GTS Mark 08-10-2011 02:36 PM

Fuck that shit!

J. Falcon 08-10-2011 02:45 PM

Thats gonna suck big time.

Elli 08-10-2011 02:48 PM

If they touch Red Sonja, I'm out. Leave the classics alone!

Oh ffs.. from the wiki:

"A new adaptation of Red Sonja not based on the original film is currently in the works. It will be produced by Robert Rodriguez, directed by Douglas Aarniokoski (with considerable participation of Rodriguez). Rose McGowan will be playing Red Sonja despite to rumor that Megan Fox was going to take the role. The rumor was later denied by Fox's publicity firm as false on April 5, 2010 [1]. Kulan Gath will play a major role in the movie. The release date was reported to be late 2009 with a teaser poster being released which shows Red Sonja with her sword atop of a pile of skulls. Shortly after, another teaser poster was released with a 2010 release date.

Due to financial problems, the film has been put on hiatus and it is unknown if the film will go into production. In July 2010, actress Rose McGowan stated "everything's based on maybe how Conan does...I hope to do it". While in October 2010, Robert Rodriguez stated he had left the project altogether."

This video makes it look much better. Looked pretty generic in the original trailer, but this one gives me a bit of hope at least.

The craziest thing I heard is that they will also be remaking Total Recall. That movie still has some of the coolest effects for its time, and they still hold up today as far as I'm concerned. What's next, a remake of John Carpenter's version of The Thing? It's like they just want to ruin everything with computer graphics.

edit: Oh jeez, Colin Farrell in Arnold's character.

They already shot a prequel to John Carpenter's The Thing and it looks great! Google it, I think you'll be impressed if you are a fan of that movie as many of us are!

LOL! I should have known. I see it comes out in October.

Far-L 08-10-2011 06:23 PM

Could be decent. No need to compare it to the original because this is one movie that has begged for a remake in the age of modern special effects.

From what I read it will be much closer to the original Howard character and his original plot lines.

I agree that Clash of the Titans 3d sucked, but as a movie it was a good bad movie imo...
