I really miss the Internext shows....

The first time I went (in 2004 I think) I was stunned. It felt like THIS was THE most important show. It was packed full of people eager to make deals, the sponsors went out of their ways to make sure everyone was happy....

Some memories:

- Getting together with girls from my company + girls from another company, heading out to dinner across the street (the restaurant with all the couches), and watching the girls get naked afterwards.

- Swimming at 3am and drinking some beers.

- Hot tubbing at 5am

- Food & Drinks at the Splash bar. (Expensive as hell, but so, so good).

- Making deals at the Splash bar and thinking : Now THIS is a great way to do business!

- Crazy late-night windstorms and not one but 2 Hurricanes on the horizon one year that completely washed away the beach.

It was really sad to see such a decline in the show. All of the complaints about Internext Miami were so weak and so trivial, but the momentum was enough to crash the show unfortunately.

Yes its true that the Hotel was pricy, and that it was in the middle of no where, but you know what? Who fucking cared. For 3 days each summer, we OWNED that Hotel. The staff was awesome and everyone was COOL.

I really hope that the Internext show in Miami returns next year, at the same Hotel. Who cares if its hot and muggy. Like JFK said, that was part of the charm.

COME BACK INTERNEXT MIAMI!!

Man i miss Miami too! That hotel was so awesome! Sure the drinks and food prices were a bit ridiculous but that felt par for the course after being there so many years in a row.

I'm actually in the middle of ordering a "heavenly bed" just like they have at the hotel :)

Funny how I didn't used to like that show that much but last year, with the great weather and the smaller crowd, it was one of the best shows all year.

I also miss that awesome hotel and all the memories over the past 10 years with my friends at that show. Wow, do we all have some stories.

We obviously loved the show since it was only 12 minutes away from our place by car.... (and only 20 minutes by boat! :) ).

With all the bad things regarding expense, etc... The good thing was that everybody tended to stay on the property. They didn't get scattered all over the horizon, as tends to happen in Vegas. If you sat for 4 hours by the water feature in the lobby, eventually everybody you would need to see would walk by.

Miami was my first show when I got in the Industry (when I was still with AVN Online) The following year Ambergirl and a handful of friends threw my first annual 40th Bday Bash, and then it was on like Donkey Kong! This year would have been the 6th Anniversary of that party.
