As a kid I always wanted to grow old so ...

Well, I started playing string instruments when I was young (guitar, mandolin, ukelele), and I soon decided that I wanted to be a rock and roll star.

My parents had other plans though, which created a lot of tension, plus we moved a lot due to my Dad's work. The other, and main problem, which derailed me was that I cannot seem to compose music, however much I try (I've only written 2 songs in my life, although I can play thousands of songs by heart).

Anyway, I'm happy that I was able to at least have the experience of playing in cover bands for about a decade - a part of my life that I loved and enjoyed immensely, but once I settled into full-time work, my passion for playing the same old songs every weekend to the same old crowds for little more than beer money, ebbed to the point that I took up acoustic guitar, and haven't played onstage in years (I still jam with friends at parties and practice while watching Rachel Maddow on TV and stuff, lol).

I developed an interest in film in college, and even took a few classes in documentary filmmaking. When years later I became involved as a still shooter in the adult biz back in 2000, my interest was rekindled, so I soon started shooting 8mm video, and now (11+ years later) I am living my (adult) dream you could say.

Since I add-in licensed music mixes to many of my videos, being a content producer in adult allows me to play with my musical creativity, as I constantly try to develop my skills in digital media.

I also do a handful of Asian Diva Girls live events each year, which integrate music, modeling, and creative presentations, which helps to keep life interesting.

While I am always trying to accrue new skills, the pace of the work is so demanding, that I need to schedule more time for learning and experimenting in the coming year.

Final note: I am the king of naked air guitar! :stoned

I did what I wanted to do when I was a child...unfortunately my career was cut short...during Desert Storm.

PiracyPitbull 08-16-2011 07:57 PM

I realized early on that I didn't want to work for someone else.

So I guess I achieved that, with the additional bonus of making good money and with flexible hours.

You can't put a price on waking up to a day where you get to choose the direction.

Actually,

the main form of "leprosy" was believed to be psoriasis. Which is still alive and well.

That is an odd habit of asking people a question and then making fun of them.

Thankfully, my small city has a nice small film studio and there are a number of independent movies shot hear each year. I've worked on three in the past 4 months alone.

I am going to PA in a few months to get certified with the Steadicam Operators Association. So I will actually be able to get paid to handle the camera.

You should come down to New Orleans.

spazlabz 08-16-2011 08:17 PM

Leprosy is bacterial in origin and psoriasis is genetic. Leprosy is curable with antibiotics and psoriasis is incurable. Other than both involving, ya know, skin, the diseases have almost nothing in common.

I always wanted somehow to avoid working with other people. I hate people, and this is perfect job for that. Also, if I have a chance to choose, I would like not to work at all, just spend money from some dead and rich cousin. SO many nice thing to do in 21 century if you have enough money.

Klen 08-17-2011 07:58 AM

sojproductions 09-16-2011 05:16 AM

i always wanted to be a graphic designer, which i was, which then evolved to web design, then eventually into adult, it seemed to be a pre-determined path!

panchodog's izzy 09-16-2011 10:27 AM

I wanted to be a rock star... at least I managed to teach myself to play the guitar, bass and a little bit of piano.

Also loved drawing as a kid, but I just have above mediocre drawing talents. Always enjoyed writing though I never expected to end up a freelance adult writer.

Studied to be a clinical psychologist and hope to work in the field some day.

I would also love to work for some cool toy company, just testing toys all day long. Not sex toys, toy toys.

Too many dreams? Nah, not at all. Dreaming is healthy!

:)

bronco67 09-16-2011 12:11 PM

In my ideal life I would spend my days playing guitar, surfing and making art during -- and having sex with girls as young as legally possible.

Christ Candy,

piss in my face why don't ya.

Just saying, there are a TON of films being shot around the NO area.. if you were having trouble "breaking in", then NO might be a good backdoor option for ya.

I wanted to be the greatest human being to ever roam the face of the earth!! :)
