when i read that some states want to add things like creationism to their school books, i'd rather suggest to take away the authority from the states ;)
federal power cuts both ways. if a bachmann type gets elected, creationism could be forced on all the schools in the country.

The US department of education is a fucking failure. Deal with it.
believe that is mostly due to the 'no child left behind' initiative.. uncle in cali was saying the initiative really didn't do anything to address the educational issues facing kids today

They majority elected George Bush, followed by a guy with two months of relevant experience who candidly admitted he was completely unqualified and didn't know what he was doing.
