I might not post here regularly but I do and have watched the boards for years and have learnt a lot from it. One post here today and I finally got a response from ICM :-)

This afternoon I've received an email from the registry saying they have been trying to contact me, as well as a post appearing on the 'question' I had left days ago.

I have been sitting waiting on this (and any time previously they replied to my 'question' I got an email) so have not cleared my spam/deleted items for days
in case I missed something important - more than ten years of spam OCCASIONALLY I delete one I need to read by accident and paranoia had set in!

I've also checked my phone number on our whois/domain info and also on my registration profile as a member of the sponsored community. It is correct on both counts.

We have been receiving calls on this number no problem, including calls from our registrar Easyspace regarding the .xxx registration process and refunds/ trying charging back (READ BIG headache)...

We have a functioning answerphone. There have been no phone calls on this line from ICM and there have been no messages left by ICM.

I am now told that I am part of their 'Talent Program' which they are in the process of rolling out and they are working on a way to get the domain name to me....

I did a search on 'Talent Program' which showed no results (same as I did when they threw in 'Premium List' - no results)

Firstly I don't understand why they didn't just tell me this from the get go - previously the name was on their 'Premium List' now it is in the 'Talent Program?

Secondly I still dont get why we weren't given the domain straight off being that we're the top level domain owners!

I don't feel bad for you, but it does suck that you got screwed. At least you were only trying to buy the .xxx version of your .com and not speculating. If you felt tricked into thinking you needed to buy the .xxx of your domain then that is your misguided decision to make.

Obviously if janeyweb is a "premium name" then any name is. No offense, but JaneyWeb isn't exactly premium or sort after. This would mean that ICM lied to everyone yet again (big surprise) just because you own the .com doesn't mean you will have first shot at your domain much less will you pay normal registration fees if you were to actually get it. For all you know they can put it to auction and then have shill bidders drive up the price you would have to pay.

Just think of the people who actually do have good one or two word generic keyword domains, those people are fucked. All of those will go up to auction and will be sold to the highest bidder. What a bunch of lies ICM told everyone.

The icing on the cake is that you pay the "deposit" and then you lose your money when you did everything according to what they were saying. I really hope that fat piece of shit Stuart gets ass rapped by someone over all this bullshit.

I would say that JaneyWeb is a premium name due to the branding she has in the UK from magazine appearances etc.

It is a quality amateur brand name. I used to read a few of the magazines that I worked on the shoots for and she was often in them.

Personally I think they realised she is a brand and decided to lie, shove it in a fake auction and see how much money they could squeeze from her.

From looking at her alexa rank (8,977,038) it looks like she gets at most 50 hits a day. Sorry, don't care how much branding she did in UK magazines... Either way, I go back to my first assumption, if "JaneyWeb" is considered Premium then Stuart is going to call just about every domain that is registered for more than a year and has any traffic as "premium". I doubt he referenced the fact that she brands her domain in UK magazines as the reason to put her in the "premium" column as he reviews millions of domains one by one in deciding if they go into the "shit" pile or "premium" pile. In all honestly he can give a fuck if the domain is considered "popular" "Premium" or whatever, its the fact that someone wants it that he is classifying it as premium so he can try to get more money out of them.

Knowing that he did this to "JaneyWeb" is now proof to me that he will do this to everyone. By me saying that I am not knocking JaneyWeb. Just stating a fact that he isn't sorting every .com on the net into premium or not. I thought he would take the top 100 or at most 500 and make them premium. However if he has made it down to domains like JaneyWeb then obviously they are not deciding this on a domain by domain basis and just making them all "premium" when someone wants them.

You should have known the ICM Registry can't be trusted. There's plenty of information out there. ... a lesson learned the hard way.

As you know I'm buying 12 xxx domains that I know own as a .com (sunrise 2) and I can't believe what I'm reading here. I'm happy that the process got paused by the reseller in Holland due to not matching WHOIS records, I'll refer them to this discussion and tell that that
1) don't bother going ahead with applying for xxx domains if you aren't sure if they are available
2) Fuck me and I'll do a credit card chargeback through my French bank
If they can't live with the above 2 terms they can stop with the procedure completely.
I'm prepared to pay 1600 euro for these 12 domains but I'm not prepared for paying 1600 euro and getting screwed and not getting anything. I'll end up killing someone and spending the rest of my life in jail.

Sunrise 3 is funny; if you have a mainstream trademark and don't want it to be used for porn, you can pay us and we make sure nobody will register it as an .xxx . Now if someone would register sony.xxx , Sony would sue that person. But sueing is more expensive than paying for sunrise 3 so a lot of companies are going through the sunrise 3 procedure probably, basically because they're getting blackmailed.
