I doubt even fleshlight.com was registered before the Fleshlight appeared, so I seriously doubt anyone would register any other domain with the 'word' "fleshlight".

Fleshlight.com registered in 2003. The trademark dates back to 1997. And according to the website the company has been around since 1995.

So I'm guessing that Op is talking about one of their product names or other more recent trademarks like FleshJack.

Not including the terms 'fleshlight' in domains is in our terms. For individual questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected] and I will talk to you about your particular case.

That's what I had thought too, but Nicky said it was about "Fleshlight" and the OP replied to Nicky and didn't contradict that by saying it wasn't Fleshlight. The domain has been in use since at least 1998, BTW.

Milk it until they take it away from you.

helterskelter808 09-26-2011 08:27 PM

What's the difference between a "Flesh Jack" and a "Flesh Light", BTW?

And, didn't these kind of "flesh tubes" exist before Flesh Light? Is the Flesh Light better in some way or just more heavily marketed and advertised?

From what I hear (more now than when I first saw it many years ago) this must sell pretty well, so it's a pity I used to write it off before, thinking who'd buy such an absurd product. That's not to bash Flesh Light specifically; all sex toys (for men at least) are pretty ridiculous:

(Funny, Flesh Light is itself on that page now; I don't remember it being there before.)

This one still reminds me of Butthead...

A Fleshlight is geared towards the straight audience and it the vagina, mouth and ass of a woman. A Fleshjack, is aimed at the gay market and is the ass and mouth of a man.

We have sold over 4 million of the products so far..and approaching the 5 million mark rapidly.

Edit: Do you get the two/three 'tubes' (ass/mouth etc), at once, or have to buy them separately?

Do you find you are selling more these days? You probably have more affiliates I'm just wondering if the novelty is wearing off now or there's always a market for this kind of thing. Do you find gay people are more into this or about the same? I guess that's hard to tell too, since there are more straight people around. Hm. I'm just kinda wondering who buys this product? Just anyone, or anyone in particular?

If someone creates an account on your site to buy a Flesh Light, and loves it so much they wear it out and need a new one or just want another product, does the affiliate get that second sale too? Or can the affiliate just forget any recurring sales, and it's just the initial sale they send?

If you are a piece of garbage who steals from others, keep it and hopefully get sued.

If you want to do the thing thing, you already know what that is.

But, it's not your call.

"Fleshlight" is a trademark, and that means it's their property.

It's their call.

BIGTYMER 09-26-2011 10:29 PM

Do you only promote them on the domain?

raymor 09-27-2011 12:00 AM

With it all out now, with them knowing about it and you've already spoken to them, options are limited.

The exact name may be relevant, but it sounds like trademark infringement. If you're making $25,000 in Fleshlight commissions, you almost have to work with them. If they drop you your income is at least cut in half by promoting a competitor, sands they could still sue. So either you and they work together somehow or you both lose a significant amount of money. When I say "work together", they have the majority of the bargaining power. Your only options are to sure the domain down or work with them.

You can't sell it without fully disclosing the ongoing trademark issue and you're unlikely to find a buyer who would pay much knowing the trademark owner might take the domain away. Of you sell it without full disclosure that's another person suing you or sending Guido to visit you.

So all in all another example of a principle that's generally true - only acting with integrity will work being beyond the short term.

you think they dont know how much he made with them? :)

and, if they dont allow to use that name in your domain, fuck them, move the domain somewhere where they cant take it from you and send the traffic to other sponsor. if they cannot give you freedom to sell their brand, where is logic that you have to use their keywords as you are not selling "masturbation toy" but you are selling "fleshlight", just show them your middle finger ... :2 cents: it is their keyword, but if they dont understand that your is the hard made traffic that is sending them sales and without your traffic they will not have that 25k this year, it is wasting time with ill short thinking people who cant stand that they have to share the revenue ... but not sure where you live, if you are in usa, i am sorry for you, you will have to send them the domain now or soon ... :2 cents:

end is, i hate those fuckheads who thinks using their fucking brand ... dont have words, fuck fleshlight, there are other sponsor who will be happy for that traffic ... they just want to steal your money ... (i know, maybe reply with blah blah ill tos blah blah fucked up business blah blah ... fuck you)

TeenCat 09-27-2011 12:57 AM

they have to pay all that promos and their girls at shows, and what i see their are only old people, who knows maybe how to make some toy, but as most of the people who are longer in business, they dont know how to sell shit, just crying how great that old gold times was and trying their best to make as much money as possible from you ... if you will be making three sales in year, they will have no reason to take your domain from you ... :2 cents:

TeenSluts 09-27-2011 11:26 AM

Sarah, are you online today?

indo 09-27-2011 11:29 AM

not based in the USA

They have sent a warning email

if you are not based in USA and the company (ex. facebook) is us based..

just do this:

_transfer the domain to a foreign domain registrar
_transfer your hosting to European host
_tell the company to blow it (copy paste examples from thepiratebay responses)

That way you are into the LEGAL BLACK HOLE (aka Twilight Zone) and nobody can touch you. :)
