What you should do is flush the snake down the toilet and adopt one of the kittens.

I like to catch rattle snakes, chop them up into little bits, puree them and feed them to my kittens. Plus, the rattle makes a nice little bell they can wear around their necks. Is this wrong?

Most shelters can't handle the volume, and free kittens generally lead to more free kittens, 'cos it's a rare person that gets a free kitten and then turns around and gets the appropriate care for that animal. Stop feral cats: "adopt" the CraigsList kittens for snake food!

People who keep snakes as pets are idiots. A snake isn't a pet - its something you use to make a nice pair of boots out of - or maybe a fancy jacket. A snake is just something you keep in a box and say, "Oh, look! I have a snake for a pet! I'm so cool!"

Snakes aren't pets - they're decorations that you have to feed. You eventually get tired of them, and I get a new pair of shoes.

Snakes live longer than both cats and dogs.

If economy is that bad you need to cut down costs, get rid of your snake. If you can no longer feed your pet in a proper way, then you are no longer entitled to have one. Instead kittens have to suffer because you are a loser.

They don't put them in a dumpster. They put them in a cooler until the rendering truck comes. Then they are turned into "rendered meat" and are put into pet food. How do I know? I used to work at a shelter gassing animals all day long.

in some eastern traditions it is a great honor for an animal to give up it's life for a human. it is rewarded with a better life in the next incarnation.
