There is nothing more I could say that hasn't been said already. He was one of the first people I met in real life from this business. He was warm and welcoming. When he first heard me on n e t po n d radio he sent me a box full of fake cocks and sponsored the show immediately. I remember calling him up the day we got them on the show and going nuts.

Fuck I miss those good times with him.

Hope he is in a better place now.

corvette 10-19-2011 02:51 PM

huge shame, great guy, very smart and great businessman, very well respected

mightyjoe 10-19-2011 03:11 PM

i used to know him as a great designer and owner of webinc back in the days

RIP :(

Mutt 10-19-2011 03:44 PM

Such terrible news. Todd was a fixture on the boards early on and always offering help or a contribution or just kind words - you knew he had a good heart. Always positive and understanding, he was a peacemaker. He retreated from the boards, I wondered if he had left the industry. He continued to post occassionally here on GFY, I do remember being shocked when he wrote that he had had a stroke, years ago now.

Todd was the definition of the word 'mensch'.

My condolences to Todd's family and friends.

:(

Chris 10-19-2011 04:35 PM

...i considered todd to be a good friend of mine.

may he rest in peace.

I just spoke to Fletch. Everybody that was ever part of the Webinc family - and it was a family - is just ripped apart by the loss of Todd.

He asked me to post this for you all:

Rick Fletcher "Fletch" will be on GFY to make a formal announcement in the future and that I'm trying to put together a donation/fundraiser page for him and for his family to help pay medical bills, funeral expenses and care for his family...especially his little one.

==

The fact is, Todd - though he had accomplished much more than many twice his age - was young. He leaves behind kids, the youngest is only ten and with medical bills, etc.

It rips me apart to think that a man that gave so much to others, didn't ask for help if it was needed.

I can only speak for myself but if his family needs donations, all I need is a link to the donation page and my card is out.

seeric 10-19-2011 05:02 PM

Great guy! Sorry to hear. Old school guy there!

Why 10-19-2011 05:41 PM

Wow, i read this on Xbiz. Todd was a great guy, used to talk to him on ICQ all the time as we were both Northwest folks. Sad to see him go so soon at such a young age.

he will be missed and may he rest in piece.

if the people that came out of the woodworks to praise him in this thread isnt a testament of his mark on this biz and what a great guy he was, i ono what is.

RIP Todd.
Todd lived here in Portland. A local guy. Shocked to hear this news. He wasn't that old.
A really nice and smart guy.

Im shocked and sad to hear this news. Old School Sextoyking Tood. RIP.

Do any of you remember when this industry use to do the "Angel Tree" every Christmas where you adopt a kid and buy them Christmas Presents? I think it was Pattycake that headed it up each year. Most of you don't know this, but Todd and I had a deal that two days before Christmas we would adopt every single child that was left and had not been adopted and I would pick them up gifts and he would pay for the exorbitant shipping fees by letting me put it all on his Fedex account so that it would get delivered on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve. Trust me when I tell you that the Fedex bill was just as much, if not more, than the gifts themselves. He never even cared how much, he just wanted to make sure that the kids got the gifts in time for Christmas.

You can search this board all you want and you will never see that he said a word about this to anyone....as far as I know, PC, STK, and I are the only three that ever knew. This was just the type of guy that he was.

RIP, my friend.

It isn't aimed at the industry. However, Todd gave so much money to just about everybody else's donation requests that you post is indeed lame and ill-informed.

TisMe 10-20-2011 08:49 AM

Very sad news, a truly nice guy who was fun and knowledgeable about so many things.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Jason 10-20-2011 08:56 AM

boneprone 10-20-2011 09:03 AM

I remember for many years all the biggest and best sites in the world had work done by webinc at one time or another.

And I remember how passionate he was about giving to the kids for that wishing program back in the day. Cant say enough about him. Really a great guy not just in this GFY community/industry but great guy in the real world. Very sad to hear about the little ones he left behind. As a father myself that is my greatest fear as I'm sure it was his as well.

Its important we set something up for him here. For all that he has done for others its only fitting that now in the end something come back to those he left behind in the worse way.

Again RIP Todd.

TheAmericanCannibal 10-20-2011 10:32 AM

RIP Todd- Wow I am so sad.
He and I made friends years ago after a heated war on the boards.
I helped him out with referrals to Web Inc when he first started his biz, and sent him tons of people when Mike Wylde was so backed up.

Todd always sent me a nice little check and a gracious THANK YOU.

He really was a sweetheart of a guy, and while he sure didn't look like one, he was a good Jew.

He always would wish me a Happy New Year this time of the year and to be honest, was wondering where he was this year.

My condolences to his entire family and his friends.

This is hard to read and my sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and web families, who I'm sure are both family and friends.. Although I never met him, he was always very nice and encouraging and supportive even in casual circumstances like board postings and such. When my contract for employment ended, I actually thought of trying to hit up Todd to see if he knew of anyone who is hiring, even though as I said we'd never met. Seeing threads like these is really getting too common and depressing.

LAJ 10-20-2011 12:13 PM

Oh wow... very sad news. I've been out of touch with him forever, but he was one of the first guys welcoming me into the industry back in 2000. RIP

When my husband died, Todd was my guardian angel.

I met my best friend because Todd sent me to my first industry show.

After I left Webinc, Todd followed my career as if he was my personal cheerleader. He is right there in the thread I made last month about joining Fleshlight. As ever he was bigging me up and going out of his way to make me feel good about myself.

My heart goes out to his wife and his beautiful kids.

I am forever going to miss my mentor.

Thank you Todd.

Clearly because of the way my employment history reads, your name came up several times in our conversations and I can say without hesitation that he thought very highly of you.

Wow.
I'm on the road, so I just saw the news.
I'm almost in tears as I write this.
Todd was, without a doubt, one of the few people I knew in this business who I can say, without hesitation, was one of the best human beings that I ever met.

The world is a much sadder place this week.

That's nice to hear, Sarah :)

We definitely always had a mutual respect and high regard for one another. No matter how much time passed between our conversations - it always felt like we picked up where we left off. Now, I sit here realizing that we won't ever again. It's just so crazy to me that he's gone. Makes me seriously think of my own mortality. Arrggghh :Oh crap

RIP Todd! You will always be remembered ... and live on in the hearts of the many people your life touched!

Todd? OMG.

OK. I admit I think most of this board is a crock of shit... but sometimes you might serge a nerve in me.

I wish I had the chance to meet Todd. He was the one who named me "Sabby" and he SAVED my pussy... lol. I used to order 20 jugs of 1.5 litre jugs of lube at a time. When I had my cam studio with Interclimax.

This year has been very rough ... too many industry legends lost.

quiet and ASM are what made me realize just how much I cared about some people in this industry even when, in the case of quiet, I had never met them in person. I feel like a group of us grew up together in this industry. We started young in the trenches and grew as our hobby became an industry.

sigh...all three are people that have touched my life in very real ways.

BJ 10-21-2011 03:59 AM

I had some dealings with Todd, and one of the most things I respected about him is that if his existing clients business over-lapped with a new client, he would turn the opportunity down, no questions.

Alot of people can learn from that. RIP.
