She wasn't dysfunctional when I met her and I moved to this town to get the HELL away from my family and start over a little.. In that town I was in, I was the problem solver for them all. It drove me crazy dealing with stupid yet intense problems they all cause. My mother is crazy but has never done any drugs or alcohol- she is just off because of a huge stroke back in 1996 ... she has a lack of compassion a lot of the time, and acts like a child often .. My father was extremely tough on me when I was a child and it wasn't easy .. for example when I was fifteen I was making his truck payment ..

But I definitely wasn't seeking a dysfunctional person and don't believe I was dysfunctional when I moved here. My "new start" just ended up being consumed by her getting sick, I have not had a chance. I went right back into the problem solver role. Spent my money every dime on her, driving her everywhere, etc.

I had no time or money left for ANYTHING I wanted. I could not even buy a stupid $20 cd player for my god damned car.

Maybe I seek out the role of problem solver in order to avoid dealing with my own issues. I have though that for awhile now. I also seem to be punishing myself for something. I'm not sure.

And then this woman when she is more loyal to this religious nut friend of hers, and joins her jewelry sales cult, and goes completely opposite of what I tell her, it makes me so mad. How dare she go and rent a room I told her not to, or waste the money on the jewelry cult behind my back? I was not in town when she got that money, and she purposely evaded me when I asked if the money came in so she could go and give it to the cult :(

It sounds like there are a lot of underlying issues here, but the crux of it is that thyroid issues do suck. I'm hypothyroid and it took a long time of doctors telling me that it was all stress that was making me tired, really prone to illness, steadily gaining weight despite a healthy diet and exercise, losing my eyebrows and patches of my hair... As soon as it was discovered and medicated, it was like a light switch just turned on. I hope she gets the treatment she needs.
