Might want to check your brand names on that one, Mark. ;-)

You're not wrong about the free advertising, though. IMO, you're also right that job offer publicity stunts are pretty damn tired and played out at this point.

Well...he got the Conan part right.

When Vivid did it to Conan, they received easily a hundred thousand dollars worth of advertising the night Conan announced it, and tens of thousands more later, all without it costing a dime. Smart move, the first time. Now though when Vivid does it it's lame. It's been done, yawn, move on.

Fleshlight's "offer" is a little different, and even smarter. While everyone knows that Conan would NEVER accept an offer like that, Lindsay Lohan SEEMS desperate enough to consider it, especially now that she's agreed to be in Playboy. Rag on Lohan all you want but she makes serious money. She received $80,000 recently to put out a single tweet about a single product. The fact that she doesn't act anymore is not important. Like Paris Hilton before her, her celebrity status is worth a shitload of money.

Fleshlight made a major score here. Even if Lohan refuses the deal, Fleshlight is now put front and centre in the mainstream media and in an excellent demographic too). And, they did it all without having to spend a dime.

Congrats to Fleshlight.

I fucking agree!! All the haters here must learn we are speaking about business. And right now the trash stars are what brands want to be promote by.
Btw I wonder about the ROI.
Sarah how long do you plan getting the investment back?

Obviously I can't talk in too many details but which ever way this goes it will depend on the contracts the two sides hash out.

However, I am certain we will make our million back either way.

From your previous posts on this board I always took you for someone who's somewhat intelligent. (well at least before the domain trademark fiasco responses) Doesn't it bother you that you now have to resort to spewing absolute bullshit? You know full well this was a complete publicity stunt and Lindsay Lohan would never take you up on that offer. I have no problem with the publicity your company gained through the offer on mainstream gossip sites but do you really feel it's necessary to come on an industry board expecting that affiliates and other industry professionals will fall for your obvious BS? You'd garner much more respect if you just came clean here and called it what it is.

On another subject (that I'm sure you won't answer). Doesn't it bother you on a personal level to have what good will you built up over all these years completely tossed out the window because of the company you work for and the idiotic policy implemented? It has to hurt reading through a promotional thread you created and all you see is overwhelmingly negative feedback. And it has to also bother you that you've been told not to respond to any response that references the trademark domain cluster fuck. It's painfully obvious and laughable when you bypass 9 out of 10 responses in a thread you created. You'd be better off just not posting any responses and hope that what little reputation you have left is repaired through indifference over time. :2 cents:

Wagerboy 10-27-2011 05:25 PM

bad stunt. But Fleshlight sux anyways. Back when they were hot, i sent like 35k targeted hits 0 sales. not 1. I asked rep back then for a sample to see what it was about, answer no. asked how i could go 0/35k, reply, bad traffic. I hope this stunt blows up in thier face somehow to be honest. Horrible company. Have the "CEO" mold his mouth, ill pay $1000 for it just to fuck him in the mouth. Hope noone is taking this jerk off company seriously.

To be fair, has there not always been a black cloud hovering over fleshlight?

If I remember correctly it seems to have always been a clusterfuck, shipping, monkey employees and just incompetence all around.

Might be wrong but it just seems a continuation of the usual theme.

IMDB: Lindsay Lohan now offered $1 million for sex toy deal

HollywoodNews.com: Lindsay Lohan was allegedly offered close to $1 million to pose for ?Playboy? and now she could get another $1 million to take it a step further.

The adult entertainment company FleshLight has reportedly offered her $1 million to create a sex toy from her, states TMZ. The company reportedly wants to make a mold of her genitals in order to sell an ?authentic? Lindsay Lohan sex toy.

The best part is this isn't even an original idea. This is a "me too" thing after Hefner did it. Shows you how innovative their marketing team is.

One point of reference, the signed letter says "...up to one million dollars..." without any reference to the fine print. I don't care either way, though it is obviously a publicity stunt by their marketing person to make more sales & brand the name and please the boss.

FNcash is great at saying something today and then reneging on it tomorrow (or even years later) to get out of paying you. The wording of the offer doesn't surprise me.

If recent history is any indicator, poor Lindsay probably won't even get paid if she does accept the bogus offer.

AdultKing 10-27-2011 09:14 PM

Even as a marketing stunt this reeks of dishonesty. The wording of the letter, the fact that it is most likely that all contracts are based on sales with only a base amount paid, the fact that they have screwed over many affiliates by allowing exemptions to a policy that they have now renegged on.

I would be surprised if Fleshlight had $1 mil in cash laying about anyway. They are being squeezed at all ends. The Chinese knockoffs must be hurting and way it treats affiliates must be having a bottom line effect.

leg4 10-27-2011 11:58 PM

It's hype about a product that affiliates can promote.

They'll probably have their domain taken away in a couple of years time, but they can still promote it!

Yeah, that's been my take on them over the years as well, except for a brief period I recall where Juicy and Ramos were really pumping them on gfy a few years back. Even then though I remember that being short lived as they had major reporting and stats issues and then there was some situation where Ramos took a bunch of Juicy's affiliate referrals and their gfy promotion seemed to come to an abrupt halt.

Thank you and I assure you we would not make an offer that we either couldn't financially back - (how would that play if she accepted and we didn't pay? The negative would far out weigh the I initial publicity) - or that we didn't think there was any chance of it bring accepted.

Will she say yes? Clearly that is not certain? Did we go into this without having inside sources and without knowing it would be discussed with her directly? No.

To say that yesterday saw some interesting calls coming into HQ would be an understatement. How they end up panning out is another thing.

I fully get the skepticism. I would likely be the same if I was watching from the outside. From the inside, I know it is a real offer.

For those commenting on the 'up to' line. Yes, how much would be dependent on various factors including how fully she was molded. We would, however, be delighted to pay the full million for a conmplete job.

Playboy also paid 'up to' a million. Not a full million. They also made her public offers she had previously refused.

Times change. Her people know we are serious.

I fail to see how making money off of not spending money would be a bad thing.

However, I meant that should she sign for the full million that regardless of final contract terms, I have no doubt the million would be made back and then some. The question was about how quickly and the answer was it depended on final terms.

AdultKing 10-28-2011 05:30 AM

So without commenting on the specifics, how are these deals normally structured ? A base amount then a share of sales ? Or do the moldee's receive a full single payment ?

I am sure we wouldn't turn Paris down. You are right though that she isn't as current. Though, I have faith she can do something worthy of blanket media coverage once again.

We disagree that it would be overpaying but we could be proved wrong. That is the risk on our part.

Of course the publicity we are getting is great. What we would get when the product went on sale would be greater.

It depends on the product. Some get a percentage and others flat fee. Which I know is vague but if you discuss one set of contract terms it will upset others. Everybody is well compensated. Personally, I like working with the girls and guys (the Fleshjack boys sell very well) on percentages because they do a lot of self promotion to raise their profiles and therefore make more sales.
