I figured the income from b2b webmaster services dropped below a certain threshold, Jim had other income and responsibilities, so greeny took over the board responsibilities.
It's not impossible there was a dispute over the name, thats the nature of business, but the way this biz is collapsing and consolidating it's not the most likely explanation.
The argument against there being a name dispute is that there's now a aggregator on it - they just let it drop as irrelevant.Comment

So you all think this Green Guy is so cool? He tried to rip me off years ago. I bought ad space from him and wired my payment to his American bank account. He kept saying that he didn't receive it, the most annoying thing was that he used smileys when saying that... like.. I'm fucking you and smiling at you. In the end I phoned his bank and they confirmed he did receive it and that the wire was added to his account weeks before that already. So I gave him two choices: either put up the banner I was paying for or I would get on the next flight to the USA to beat the crap out of him, make sure he would pay me back my money and cover my flight ticket as well (which I ended with a lot of smileys of course). One hour later the banner was online and he sent me a mail that he thought I was a rude bastard and that after the advertisement period was over, he would never do business with me again.
So the biz is now getting hard for him?

Then you are getting a very limited view of the business. GFY is more like a chatroom than a business forum. No disrespect to anyone here but most people in the industry come here to spam something or complain they didn't get paid, that's about it.

lol I hear you, of course! I remember from back in the day though that gg/jim had some dude on a blacklist page and something about a biz falling out. I know people do that but I recall thinking it was sort of odd. Being in this biz for years, who hasn't had some falling out.
And yeah I never got into the linklist thing because as said in this thread, it seemed like the link list owners were so touchy and you had to post over there and nose up. lol heh sorry but my honest opinion.
