homeless drug addicts are taking up residence in every city that has an OWS 'camp'. Here in Ottawa they are having some troubles with them. They tell them to leave for doing drugs and they won't leave, some using needles to threaten others with. Ottawa OWS says they will continue to feed the homeless people but want police help to move them out if they get out of control.

Occupiers terrorize us: eatery

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/m...3WyJWAJu4A hO

Quote:

A business owner near the Occupy Wall Street encampment claims she has been repeatedly harassed and threatened with bodily harm by protesters after she and her employees refused to give in to their outlandish demands.

?I?ve been told, ?Watch your back!? 10 times,? Stacey Tzortzatos, owner of Panini & Co. Breads, located across from Zuccotti Park, told The Post yesterday.

She and her employees are terrified by the constant threats, which she said began after she demanded the protesters stop using her shop?s restroom as a place to bathe every day.

The final straw came about two weeks ago, when the demonstrators broke a bathroom sink, flooding the shop, and clogged the toilet -- setting her back $3,000 in damages.

She put up a sign that said the bathroom was out of order, but they tore it down shortly afterward, she said.

?I have the police in here 10 times a day, [and] I?m the bouncer. I?ve been called the spawn of the devil. ?It?s unbelievable what goes on in here every day, ? Tzortzatos said.

And on Friday, she said, a crazed squatter burst into the shop and demanded that workers fill a 10-gallon container of water.

When they refused, ?he banged it on the ground and started yelling? and threatened the staff, she said.

?He said he was entitled to have it for free.?

Tzortzatos said the unsafe conditions begin at around 5 p.m. every day, when ?they come from the park drunk, under the influence of something.

The crime wave never stops. This what we have to look forward to after the glorious OWS workers revolution. :Oh crap

Assaults raise concerns about crime at Occupy L.A.

http://articles.latimes.com/2011/nov...crime-20111105

Quote:

Police were called to two violent incidents at Occupy Los Angeles on Friday, adding to questions about the protest and its future.

In the morning, a woman was arrested at the encampment outside City Hall after she set another person's clothes on fire, police said. In another incident hours later, a woman was arrested after protesters said she struck a man with a tent pole. Both were booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Also Friday, police arrested a man on suspicion of climbing a tree and dumping fluorescent paint on a historic marble fountain that the city barricaded earlier this week to protect from vandalism.

Congrats on the breaking old "news" from the NY Post:1orglaugh That piece o' propaganda has gotten some coverage.

Of course terrorizing the local businesses is what the legit protestors want to do, makes perfect sense if they want to be there for the long haul:error

It's really inconceivable that infiltrators are going around causing shit to give OWS a bad name:winkwink:

I on the other hand showed you evidence of black bloc infiltrators and that's all you got?

these ows protests are usually done in areas where crime and hardcore drug use runs rampant already.. there is no way for them to "ban" people.

The crimes are just the same crimes that would be reported in these areas if the ows protesters were not there

bronco67 11-08-2011 11:42 AM

I thought the worst crime would be an intentional Starbuck's Latte scalding.

Of course there is a way to prevent them from being a part of OWS.

They need to grow the fuck up and protest like adults. Put away the tents and the little circus thing - this attracts the homeless and the criminals. Have a protest weekly, every Saturday. Have them at different locations. The protesters who really believe in this will find out where the protests are via social networking, etc - the homeless won't. The criminals won't show up because a group of protesters hanging out for a few hours is a lot less tempting than a full time encampment in a public park.

SoCal Street Cart Vendors Hurting After ?Occupy? Group Splatters Blood, Urine

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2011/...s-blood-urine/

Quote:

Coffee cart owner Linda Jenson and hot dog cart operators Letty and Pete Soto said they initially provided free food and drink to demonstrators, but when they stopped, the protesters became violent.

And according to one city councilman, bodily fluids were used in the attacks.

?Both carts have had items stolen, have had their covers vandalized with markings and graffiti, as well as one of the carts had urine and blood splattered on it,? said Councilman Carl DeMaio.

Give the spoiled children what they want for free...... or else you will also be part of the dreaded 1% class enemy. :Oh crap

Gonna wager it's because they gathered for a few hours with signs, listened to people yell about stuff and then went home?

They had the same probability of something happening to them as if they went to the mall that morning.

Put them in a sleeping bag in the middle of the city overnight and then let's make a fair comparison?

They are coming off as being anti banking ("Everyone move to credit unions") and anti business. Banks and businesses are in fact in business to make money. And credit unions aren't much different from banks really.

Without having a goal or a set of demands, no one can give them what they want.

I agree, at some point they will need to solidify their message into something people can understand. But that takes time.

Personally, I give "the people" the benefit of the doubt in these sorts of the things no matter their view. Regular people have no lobbyists, they have no politicians in their pocket, they don't own any media outlets, etc. So I feel they deserve a bit more time to get organized.

However, if they stall out and the message is still unclear in a few months, then that's on them and the movement should probably disband and regroup.
