Model Mayhem's rules are a joke.

It's okay for porn stars to have a portfolio, and it's okay for amateur/hobbyist photographers, scammers, and stalkers, to all have MM accounts, but not professional photographers that actually pay models for legal modeling work.

A model can indicate on her profile by clicking on the MM Form that she does "Erotic" and "Fetish" modeling, and does "Nude" modeling, but then the Mods exclude companies that actually pay models to shoot that style of content, which you would think is kind of the point of a board created specifically for the purpose of connecting models with photographers.

Add to that list Purestorm and pretty much any other modelling site out there. I now take it as a pure compliment that I can't get a profile anywhere.

On the plus side I do love sending out those DMCA notifications when I find my shots, uncredited with the logo chopped off in model profiles on the very sites that won't list me as a photographer. I may have burned my bridges with that one, but fuck them.

No one who shoots for a living wastes time "grooming" wannabee fashion models into doing porn, we just say what we do and wait for the apps to roll in - which they do. At the very worst we'd contact a few and just ask - this is what we do, this is what we pay, interested? All the model sites do is give the girls a distorted view of who has work and where there's money to be made. But then IF the girls actually made a living from working shooters a lot less of them would fuck about travelling all over the country for worthless TFCD shoots with amateurs.

there are tons of fake MM profiles consisting of pics from solo girl paysites or ex-gf sites - some are so laughably obvious even if you don't know a thing about the porn industry - whoever's in charge of approving/rejecting MM accounts is/are morons. they let anything through on the model side.

about the no-porn rule - hundreds and hundreds of adult industry photogs and models on there. i don't blame them for keeping the hardcore porn people out, but anything solo should go, MM is very focused on glamour nudes, glamour nudes are porn/erotica, they sure aren't art.

i've had many accounts shut down - now i'm smart, i lay low, never post on the MM forums, never make comments on photos, never leave tags on models' profiles.

My first MM profile got deleted. When I inquired, they said that my pictures were watermarked with "Twistys", which was a porn site. A few months later, I set up another profile, with different name, email addy and new pics.....which were watermarked with my name. Got approved and have been good to go ever since.

I've shot quite a few girls from MM. And I know several model agents/agencies who use MM regularly to find new talent. Yea, the mods can be assholes to deal with but so can mods on other sites :thumbsup

they are good at sniffing out porn (hardcore) shooters, unless you have a very established name; ken marcus is a good example, he shoots very explicit fetish stuff but due to his name and possible the artistic impression, he is allowed.

MM's business model is predicated on making money from the "worthless TFCD" shooters who can't (or won't) pay models. So the last thing MM wants is porn people, who pay real money, competing with the TFCD crowd. Thus, no pornsters.

I think they allow Ken Marcus because he's there just about every day scouring the forum board, offering up advice (from his many years of experience) to other shooters. In his day, he was the main shooter at Playboy and again years later at Penthouse. He has lots of experience to share and he's happy to share it. He's not your typical porn shooter scouring MM looking for girls to shoot and not giving anything back to the community. Of course his name is also a pretty nice draw, even though...most of the younger shooters probably have no idea who he is :winkwink:

I dont think MM mods are really qualified to figure out who is who, other than someone with a big name like Ken Marcus but there are many other adult shooters on MM even casting for adult shoots right on their profile page. I am guessing they made it through by chance and/or was grandfathered in from earlier days.

Your submitted pictures looked suggestive. Sure, lots of advertising is suggestive. Many male sports athletes are shot in their underwear peddling products. But your models aren't holding a product... They are just suggestively posing... which suggests porn.
