Satire is harder when you are a venue not known for satire, when you are effectively the voice of an industry, and when the base story is all over the mainstream press.

Probably people expected a reasoned answer, not satire.

I don't know if it would be classified as a satire, parody, spoof, or just pure crap, but I know that I had a great time writing about Saul Darkham, the King Of Porn. The problem was, and I don't want to mention any names or anything, but the problem was that I based the character on an apparently real person who really just says the same thing over and over again, which I felt kind of limited my options as to where I could go with the character. With that being said, i think it set me up well to introduce a new fictional character which I've been toying around with in my spare time and one who does not have that same problem. This new character, if described in a nutshell, would be best described as kind of like a combination of Patrick Bateman, Mike South, Edmund Dantes, and myself. He is Count Chatsworth. Look out for him in Spring 2012. Or after. :thumbsup

I just read the write up right now and it isn't what I would consider a satire. When I think of satire I think of something funny or over-the-top, exposing the ridiculousness of a situation. This reads like a regular opinion from a concerned parent, nothing more. I guess I'm missing it.

I like to think that I'm at least somewhat intelligent, but I'm afraid I can't speak intelligently about the thought process Sasha Grey goes through when deciding to do some charitable work. Neither can you.

Maybe she did it for the publicity, maybe she didn't. It really doesn't matter. Many charitable deeds are done for self serving purposes.

If anyone has a problem with people who donate time or money to charitable causes for self serving purposes,they should write their congressperson and ask them to initiate legislation to eliminate tax deductions for charitable donations. Sure, the net result might be that less money is donated to charity, but it's not about the charities themselves, it's about what's inside the head of the charitable worker.

You should also put me on your shit list because I once helped build a house for about 18 hours on a weekend simply because I wanted to fuck the girl who asked me if I would do it with her.
