i'd retire from this industry
after paying off my debts i would...build a recording studio, art studio, buy a quarter section of land (flood it) and make it into an environmental center for wetlands conservation, write and produce movies and stage shows and visit Ubud, Indonesia and learn about the art of making rituals from natural materials |
I would invest it in a secure investment form. YOu will receive about 5 - 8% . This will make you 200000 - 320000 a year collecting the intrest. Depending on the taxation (I assume 25% might be higher) this leaves you with 150000-240000. That is 12500-20000 a month. I sure as hell can live confortably with this kind of cash.
Now you travel a lot. Visit Museums and do a lot of reading. This of course will be sweeter if you have a partner to enjoy live with or you might be bored soon. If you need to do work do so but never touch the original 4 Million and you will never have to worry a bit in life. I will never understand those sport stars that earned dozens of millions but still are greedy. They invest and lot of them have lost their fortune. If you don't get greedy you will enjoy life from that point on. |

If you get bored.. like really bored. You get into drugs if you're weak. That eats a dime or 2 as well.

all my friends are musicians, tat artists or piercers. Bar owners. tatted up drunks with degrees and killer leather chairs and cinema screen macs running protools. their projects are all that matter, just like me. I am only involved in this industry because of the money is so easy to make, and once applied to my real goals and aspirations, it makes them all the mroe easy to obtain as well. Im a workaholic too, but by no means is my creativity limited to fucking adult sites or porn? C'mon this isnt art, its smut, and im not even into porn. Im into music, recording it, producing it, guitars, effect pedals, vintage synths etc, porn is boring. But it pays well, none of my friends are involved in it. just a bunch of fuck ups that actually made it out alive. 'got money in the bank, I can still get high.' |
Why are we talking about *Chump Change*.Shit I made 4 Million in the stock market last month while Sleazy was sucking back a couple Big Macs

not expanding and making new friends since high school shows some serous social adaptation problems....... |
seriously... 4 mil tax free? I'd be sooooo out of this fucking biz. And not into another. Just done. Fuck it all. No museums, no fancy yachts, no mansions, no perpetual traveling, no useless college courses, no scheming on where to invest it to make even more....
I don't need any of that shit. I'd go straight down to Home Depot, buy me one really nice big ass hammock, pick up some beer on the way back, and go find me a couple perfect coconut trees down on the beach to set it up. And that's what I'd do for, oh.... the next 450 years. Fuck status. Fuck image. Fuck "being somebody important". Fuck what anyone else thinks. Find something simple, enjoyable, relaxing, & cheap, and just do it. There ya go. The key to lifelong happiness in a nutshell. :glugglug |
Amp is now my hero.

I've never really know anyone that had more than a hundred dollars in their account. They're called floaters.. and live on the post-dated check. Most were soldiers, and the pay just wasn't all that great. Post-dated checks, stacks of pizza boxes, and daily calls from the signature loan companies.

You mean that your whole goal in life wasn't to be SOMEBODY and dump all your NOBODY friends who aren't SOMEBODY? |
hellyah I would retire...
I would probably just kick back... snowboard, make porn videos of some sexy babes and toss them up on my hobby site. Maybe even splurge and buy a few listings on the Hun... to earn some spare change. I guess 4 million would handle that lifestyle. |

if my friends consisted of those making money, that would show some SERIOUS social adaptation problems lol... i'm out. |

sure sounds like you've got a real love/hate thing with money and this business in your head. You must have some horrible internal conflicts to deal with it. |
We all know we just read this thread in the hopes that it was a way for Quiet to PayPal is $4 million.

What I was getting at is that what I think is perfect may not be right for you... I'm sure you've got some image of what's perfect for you, and it probly would bore me to death. But it shouldn't take endless streams of millions to be able to achieve it. If it does, you've got warped priorities. And I'm telling you... "being somebody" in the eyes of other people is not really a goal. It's fruitless ego stroking. If you live for this purpose, you'll grow to be an old man wondering why you've never found happiness. Status is an illusion. |
Amp's got the right idea but, I would travel the world..

Beginning to wonder whose really been in this realm before. $4 Mil is a number, but its still chump change in the heavy hitter world and totally in the land of "Oh Shit" where something you didn't plan on can whack your mils right out from under you. If you don't believe that you've never had this kind of money before.
"Oh Shit" land is a scary place. You now have some mils, but you want to go from 7 figs to 8 figs, because the power rush is more exciting as you notch up. To do it you have to still play the game. The chips and risks get much bigger now. You think everything you touch will now turn to gold like it always has that got you there. But when you get an "Oh Shit" and it can be anything like a divorce, a business calamity, an industry revolution, like when the Net came along, my 900 adult investment returns were no longer spectacular like before where you could make 5 to 1 on your money every month, shit like this, like in a casino you force yourself to keep playing thinking I'm going to hit and get it back, which most times you do, cause money guys tend to be lucky, but nevertheless it gives you anxiety. The hardest part in the mil league is finding good investments. For some reason a lot of stuff in this sector is full of scam promoters. You get prospectuses on your desk like mad and they all sound and look like huge moneymakers, but more often than not a lot of hot air and mirrors is in these deals and its very easy to get ass fucked before you know what happened. I know guys who after a many mils in the bank have overheads approaching 6 figs a month, mostly due to showpiece high maintainence wives (LOL) who spend spend spend. The worst mine ever got to was just under $50K a month, and that's cause I had an atrocious live in girlfriend who became spoiled rotten and was burning through charges on my AMEX card like it was water. So $4 Mil really won't sustain that long even with investment income on it, if you live the way most guys in this range do with expensive women in their lives. Good luck whichever way you decide Quiet. |

So is it the knowledge that some other people percieve you as being somebody that creates this for you? If you didn;t think you were somebody before, how do you define the point at which you become somebody? Dollar amount? Certain amount of other people saying it out loud? |

california realestate is a good place to be..hire a managment company to rent them and deal with everything..in ten years would be in a good place with money making money for you..not much to deal with except what you would really like to spending your time on..of course diversify some of it into fairly conservative investments...say anything yeailding dididends which if Bushe's new tax plan goes through will be tax free

It makes me no different than I was yesterday. Except with alot more money. You can't buy respect. Do I respect those guys? Hell no. Fuck them. They don't impact me. I've never met either one. And I couldn't care less if they go broke or die tomorrow. So.... are they still somebody? There is no status except that which we allow. Whether it's in the eyes of others or for yourself. For every person that may end up thinking you as a somebody in the future, there are alot more people who simply don't care. Status is an illusion bro. Chasing it your whole life is an incredible waste of time. |
