Since when is ICM Registry developing their own porn sites? Has this always been your intention? Wouldn't it be much easier to just bought a couple of com domains to start sites instead of launching ICM Registry and a whole new tld just to get a few premium names for your own use? If you really wanted to help the industry you would have spent those millions buying traffic

Its so wrong. So ICM is now going to pick the top domains and setup their own adult sites!?

Well as we all know ICM Registry by now, they didn't admit it with that many words but it is obviously clear to all of us.

Jack Sparrow 12-09-2011 08:25 AM

Do you think it is more or less creative than ripping off the "Got Milk?" campaign?

We're not in the content business, so no, not quite. Some of those common word, premium generic names will be developed into traffic portals for the benefit of .XXX domain owners.

so how does this really benefit xxx domain owners if you are also adding their current .com domains and content for your so-called portals?

can you give some additional info on these portals please? what will it do? Is it a search engine? Where does it link to? Are you going to hire the google guys to develop your own search engine logarithm or how will the search results be established? Can xxx domain holders buy advertising or links on the portal?

ONE of the portals will be a search engine (www.search.xxx). It will crawl and index adult sites from ALL TLD's. No one knows Google's exact algorithms of course, but our search engine will have integrated algorithms like Google and will behave in a similar manner. We've had a team of seven developers working on this for most of 2011 and it will be a fully featured offering, producing organic results as well as displaying paid ads much like Google and Yahoo.

Some of the Category killer keywords we have reserved will be used to generate type in traffic for the search.xxx porrtal together with a substantial consumer awareness marketing campaign. Additionally, there will be other TRAFFIC portals together with RESOURCE portals to help industry members and newcomers, content services/providers, hosting services, etc. will be able to be advertised and promoted on these sites.

right...
so instead of acting as the registrar of the xxx tld only, you are also developing your own adult websites with a for-profit strategy (selling ads) and therefore you choose to directly compete with your (potential) customers. To name an example; http://www.askjolene.com/

I really can't believe people ignore these facts who are still pro xxx and that ICM Registry keeps pretending they are here to help the industry

well if you would base them on traffic you pretty much get the same list.

so you would prefer if they manipulate the list so their paid sponsors get higher rankings instead?
