Don't forget to bring some Pepto, you won't be able to find any there.
If you have any old clothes or shoes you want to get rid of, they are always appreciated in Cuba. You can also use them to barter for souvenirs in the markets.

Have fun!

Near Trinidad is a park called El Cubano National Park. Within the park is the most beautiful waterfall I've ever seen. The trail to the park is postcard perfect every step of the way. There is a tribe of mountain people who still live the traditional lifestyle 3/4 along the way. Their barefoot kids can climb trees like Tarzans. Going for a swim in the pond surrounded by cliffs as Salto Javira creates a veil of water you can swim behind was magical. I highly recommend that hidden spot in paradise you won't find in any tour guide book.

Now THIS is the type of tip I was looking for. Thanks and I'll definitely try to find it.

Also probably the most impractical tip unless you are willing to make the 475 mile trip from Havana to Trinidad, Cuba.

Cuban money

I have some Cuban money, but it has some guy named Bastista on it. Must be fake.

Depends on where you eat. Lots of good meals to be had there.

Indeed. However, it's worth the trip. Trinidad is charming.

Just got back last night. We had a great trip overall minus a few road bumps but that's to be expected. I'll post some pics when I can but it's going to be tough as I'm trying to catch up and get ready for Vegas.

Thanks for the tips.

I did Cuba a few years ago. Had a good time. Varadero has one of the nicest beaches I've ever seen.
See you in Vegas, Sam!
