On a serious note where are you even taking down Cyberlocker links? I did a quick through 10 of the thousands of sites we monitor and it looks like all their content is still up.

It looks like he either had a bot coded to grab all the Google links with those keywords and didn't verify the list before sending out the DMCA's, or he had outsourced workers that either weren't properly instructed how to do their jobs or didn't understand the instructions they did receive. Either one is feasible since sending DMCA's for sites like isdownorblocked.com is an indicator of sloppy work that wasn't checked. When I first started actively policing content I ran into both issues, but I always double checked my lists before sending out DMCA's. Not verifying is a good way to get your ass sued.

Either way trying to blame a competitor is pretty lame... :2 cents:

How do you work with a directive? This is a piece of paper, not an institution. Plus it's not enforcable at all, because EU directives have to be implemented into national law by the member countries to create any effect. The directive intself just says that the members have to implement the contents into their national law within a certain period of time.

The most likely scenario is that he spent 2-3 hours one Saturday morning in his boxers building a list of sites to fuck with, without actually knowing what the fuck he's actually doing. This is obviously the work of a middle-aged to older guy who got into the Internet a few years ago and now thinks he knows what the fuck he's doing. Guy got lucky scoring a contract from a good guy like EscortBiz, but fucked it up because, well, the gap in the market that he thought he saw doesn't really exist and fucking up is a foregone conclusion for any Joe Average (i.e. a guy with no real connections) who is dumb enough to think that they can establish themselves as some kind of Internet enforcer for profit. :2 cents:
