NOW she is dead set on finding a 70"
She doesn't want the 65" LG for 2200
She wants the Aquos 70" she saw at sams

But she has a home protection plan that covers appliances/electronics from sears.. it's 1000 a year and they give her a new central air unit, stoves, tvs, furnaces, free in home service. It is ridiculously good, they don't do it any more I guess.

So if she buys from Sears it's pretty much like a lifetime warranty. And when her tvs wear out they end up having to give her a much better one. Like this 64" projection she has- when it goes BLAM she'll probably get a DLP free

SAMS Has the 70" Aquos LC-70LE733U for $2797 .. SEARS has the LC 70LE732U for $2799 and the LC70LE632U for $2499 - now what the hell is the damned difference supposed to be???

As an aside- I think that fourth color bullshit is bullshit. The picture on the 70" I saw at sams on the 70 "240hz" wasn't great. I even caught it not being able to keep up with something that moved fast on a commercial ( I think )

Samsung and LG are ABSOLUTELY without question the best pictures out there

Buy an LG or Samsung from a chain like Best buy or Futureshop, but don't buy the extended warranty, Monster cable, or any of that other crap. The TV is discounted but everything else has severe mark-ups, and Monster cables are a scam.

Happy Shopping!

Apparently these two are 120hz and cost about the same, so I guess avoid these

Does anyone know if there are any HUGE differences in these three?

Built in WIFI on televsions, does that mean they have a browser? If it won't work with netflix she'll be real real upset

I think that it might be newer releases of same exact tv.. 33 early 11 34 mid 11 35 late 11 etc

The second one adds their quattron quad pixel technology. Debatable whether that is a benefit or not.

The third one also adds 3D.

They all support Netflix.

I think they all three have the quad pixel thing (I would actually rather get one WITHOUT it.. because I think it's bullshit considering that everything is made in 3 colors anyway and they're just trying to add it in after processing.. I also doubt the new standard will become RGBY .. lol)

I didn't notice the first two ain't 3D though ... good looking out .. I don't know what a tv being "3D" really means .... I know some had a coating, some required glasses, etc

MrMaxwell 12-28-2011 08:06 PM

Ah
I see what you mean now

The first one only says
Quad Pixel Technology - RGBY filter adds yellow to the traditional RGB sub-pixel components, enabling the display of many colors never before seen on TV.

The second two say that AND
Quad Pixel Plus -enables the processing of images with higher resolution and less jags in diagonal lines.

It looks like Sharp uses active 3D, meaning you have to put a set of battery powered glasses on your head to get the 3D effect. You have to pay extra for them.

I personally prefer passive 3D, where the glasses are just like the ones you get in a movie theater, without active shutters. They are lighter and aren't as hard on the eyes. Supposedly the active have higher resolution per eye but you also have to wear the heavy glasses and get more of a flickering effect on some sets which can cause headaches.

What do you end up with some glasses on you clicking 10000000000 times .... lol .. so THAT is what active/passive 3D means ..... lol .. Are the passive ones, where you can wear old style glasses, are they the ones with the special coating??

As an aside
I read all over the internet reviews of the AQUOS and so many people say the picture is as good as LG and SAMSUNG.. Let me tell you something. Those people are smoking crack. And I've only said that saying "smoking crack" 2-3 times in my life. But those people really are.

We don't use it.

I'd have nowhere else to put it. . . . the room is very large and open.

I have heard that if you are not a member and say you're going in for the pharmacy they have to let your ass in there because of some federal reg

Maybe I read that on here

RonTheDon 12-28-2011 08:33 PM

Oh yeah - forgot to mention, I've been looking at Fry's.

Just picked up a 55 Samsung LED for 1300 after tax. Best buy has a lot of returned items that you can still haggle.

They let anyone in to shop and usually charge non members more to shop.

I belong to Sams and BJ, and both operate like this.
