What an asshole (but we were already aware of this anyhow).

Pirates are sometimes very shady and make an effort to not be found. That's when you have to send DMCAs everywhere. If you throw enough shit on the wall, some of it will stick.

First - it did get to WRONG person
So obviously I am no pirate, or at least have nothing to do with this DMCA claim.

But that owuld be understandable and I would not react if this guy
Would not threat posting it on GFY, claiming he is some industry guru
while exposing that he gets his contacts from EMAIL WHOIS (for contact to a payment processor, not to a pirate or anything !).

SO basically company which is representing content owners works in such amateur manners...do you think its good ?

Looks like a simple typo and your domain was the typo.

well considering that SOPA is the first law that allows you to deal with the financial processors

the key question is why is he abusing the DMCA to send notices to a biller.

really biller are not covered by DMCA because they don't actually host any of the infringing content.

That what SOPA is designed to fix

so how exactly are you claiming that sending DMCA notice to a billing is not deliberate.

That was a fluke ... happens from time to time being the "cocksucker, moron, asshole, motherfucker, prick" that is me. All the previous correspondence had gone unanswered.. Segpay, Webazilla, Zombaio, etc.. I mentioned GFY and it took precisely 2 minutes for a response. :thumbsup

I never said I wasn't trying to send it to a billing processor. In fact.. I have been 'deliberately' trying for the past week. It was the wrong email address in the forwarding of an email.

Anyone can fill in any info on a domain registration. Sending a DMCA to an address on a Whois site is dodgy.

And I thought part of a DMCA had to be worded like this.

I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Eric, you had best be very careful. Send it to the wrong guy and you can be looking at a law suit. That's what screwed APIC.

Correct. There is some law that deals with filing false DMCA claims. However, I believe RYC is essentially claiming they made a mistake and there was not "malice" involved to file the false DMCA claim. Much like manslaughter where you did not 'intend' to fall asleep driving and kill someone.

:2 cents:

Don't get me wrong here. I feel for content owners dealing with rampant piracy and I think your service is a needed one and from what I can tell pretty effective too. I just think you'd be better served with a more humble public face. My two cents for what it's worth. :2 cents:

Well I'm not working for pimproll.com or porn.com if thats what you mean, and never did anything with content or even visited the office.

But anyway, I was referring to how you accidentally made a typo like you've already said. It's just an oops moment.

Thanks.. we've already done that a few times though.

zombaio.com

the correct spelling is a bill processor

so is segpay

both are only valid targets of a SOPA (you know the law that hasn't passed yet) complaint.

And only after you got a court order declaring them as a site "dedicated" to infringement.

So it's a valid DMCA claim, but he had to send it to an address not associated with the site in question?

If so, there is nothing wrong with that. The DMCA got to you and that's all that matters. There is no law that says a DMCA has to be sent to an email attached to a domain. If you own all the domains in question, what's the problem?

Maybe next time don't pirate people's shit.

You need to read this thread again.

The guy from RYC misspelled Zambaio the biller or however the fuck its spelled. This guy has the domain that is the mispelling of Zambaio. This guy does not own the hentai site. from what someone above wrote. The site in question is owned by serious-partners, which is an affiliate program that has been known for a long time to use stolen content. The guy from RYC then proceeded to talk to this guy, like he was Zambaio the billing processor and said he was going to out him on GFY.

Get it?
