I will say that apart from the politics of it all, I did like that there was somebody on that stage that knew the affiliate community, that knew the GFY dynamic and not just in vague terms (in the way speakers lately say 'the boards' but you know they never go there) but knew personalities from way back up to now.
If you go to shows, you know what I mean, there are fewer and fewer 'down in the trenches' types around - until this show . There are other people that are at this show which I pretty much assume comes from Theo and Panos knowing the history of this part of the industry so well. *hats off* |
So he's a Top Notch, Stand Up guy again?
|
Did he say he steals all your shit and you are too much of a bitch to stop him ?

Manwin is impressive... many years ago 2 of my guys sat down with them and they said they would eventually like to just buy every major brand in the adult industry
and damnit if they are not doing that.. good for them..... adapt or die is truly the deal luckily Webmaster Central is working on an entirely new model to offer our clients B2B that will give them something that the tubes don't have hopefully a game changer that will give surfers a real incentive to join and stay with paysites.. more info coming soon |
To bad I couldn't make it this year to visit the show, hear only good things

It as it's been done time and again in online adult (as well as other industries). As Harry Truman said, "The only thing new in this world is the history you DON'T know". :2 cents: |

I love the logo on his shirt. Look how the Playboy bunny over the Manwin M now looks like a bunny with spider legs.

This is exactly what they want you to think. If any tube site depended on "user uploads" for content, they all would have failed a long time ago. |

Hey I'm somebody now...I got a mention in that Keynote speech
“Although Mike South has posted on his blog that it was done months ago,” added Thylman, “when he first reported it we weren’t even talking about this, and deals always take time, and we finally signed yesterday. We signed in a bar in the casino, so you could have actually seen it.” I aint callin Fabian Out...OK maybe I am... but if at least some part of the deal wasn't done months ago why did you order all of digital playgrounds affiliate (the ones that pay dp) checks be changed to go to Manwin on sep 15th 2011? just sayin.... |
"In essence, Manwin is a tech company," he said at a rare keynote speech at Internext, an industry-only conference held immediately before The Adult Entertainment Expo. "We're online and have such big sites that we have to be very, very good at the tech side of this business."
Some might roll their eyes at such a description, but Thylmann made a strong enough case over a 10-month period in 2010 and 2011 to convince a Wall Street fund (which he declines to name) to agree to a nine-figure loan in April 2011. The money was used to pay down previous acquisition debts and fund new takeovers, such as Digital Playground. It's a strategy that has earned Manwin respect among its peers. "There's no question those Manwin guys are smart and they know what they're doing," says Steven Hirsch, founder of Vivid Entertainment. http://www.cnbc.com/id/45989405 http://media.cnbc.com/i/CNBC/Section...ylmann-200.jpg |
