Hey I'm somebody now...I got a mention in that Keynote speech

“Although Mike South has posted on his blog that it was done months ago,” added Thylman, “when he first reported it we weren’t even talking about this, and deals always take time, and we finally signed yesterday. We signed in a bar in the casino, so you could have actually seen it.”

I aint callin Fabian Out...OK maybe I am... but if at least some part of the deal wasn't done months ago why did you order all of digital playgrounds affiliate (the ones that pay dp) checks be changed to go to Manwin on sep 15th 2011?

just sayin....

porno jew 01-18-2012 07:06 PM

"In essence, Manwin is a tech company," he said at a rare keynote speech at Internext, an industry-only conference held immediately before The Adult Entertainment Expo. "We're online and have such big sites that we have to be very, very good at the tech side of this business."

Some might roll their eyes at such a description, but Thylmann made a strong enough case over a 10-month period in 2010 and 2011 to convince a Wall Street fund (which he declines to name) to agree to a nine-figure loan in April 2011. The money was used to pay down previous acquisition debts and fund new takeovers, such as Digital Playground.

It's a strategy that has earned Manwin respect among its peers.

"There's no question those Manwin guys are smart and they know what they're doing," says Steven Hirsch, founder of Vivid Entertainment.

Umm, I'm no expert, but why would DP's affiliates be paying DP????? Should be other way around.

And WHAT did Fabian say about Paul????

So Mike how do you know that Fabian "order[ed] all of digital playgrounds affiliate (the ones that pay dp) checks be changed to go to Manwin on sep 15th 2011?" ???

Interesting reading, they certainly have a strategy :thumbsup

However as a tech company I never saw them bringing something innovating to the table.

I'm very curious what they will introduce as new innovating tech in the upcoming year to monetize all those brands and content.

Also cool to see that there are investment funds willing to invest in adult entertainment.

A room full of web and tech guys, and no one is able to get a video online within a day.

You can bet if someone was shitting in the pool, it would have been online in 10 minutes.

the Shemp 01-19-2012 05:52 AM

they said the new messiah would arrive ...

SZNY 01-19-2012 06:11 AM

Well I'm not talking about piracy but more about his vision to bring his brands to the consumer (web and TV).

Piracy is like the war against drugs something that can't be won without any good rules and policies on a worldwide level.

The future of our industry is not primarily fighting the war against piracy but adjusting your business model, making new apps, new ways to attract your consumers to buy your products or services through a more attractive model.

At the moment all we see is picking up failing or plateauing companies and copying everyone else. Would be great to see if someone big can bring something new to porn.

9 figures investment in the adult business?????????????????????

Sorry if I sound the doubting Thomas here, but if it was money you were in control of would you invest $100,000,000 in adult entertainment today? Maybe to buy more of these.

The future will be interesting.

They have a long term vision and started acquiring companies in a certain order at the right time. Now they own most of the chains (traffic, big brands, broadcasting rights, cams, dating, amateur communities, etc).

So with an available investment fund of 9 figures they did a hell of a job. Now with some innovating tech strategy, the right brains aboard, connecting the dots they can make new things that attracts the modern consumer.

Investors don't push a 9 figure fund into something without a strategy, so consider them all sitting on golden toilets in the near future :upsidedow
