Can you imagine today's faggots who will never experience music the way it was in the 80's early 90's?

as i keep saying, for ever shit band I can show you a wonder of art that will give you goosebumps.
My latest infatuation, TORCHBEARER. 2011, from Sweden, this is beautiful A road was leading on To the land of eternity For a man on his last travel When he came to cross Over a bridge broken Dismounted and pulling heavy weight Tremendous effort and struggle This man did fail Through grasped the piling firmly And giving mighty shout It still sank to the rivers step And when the man returned he died After the Takao river After the Takao cross After the Takao river That man, he died One man's death Giving another one the gifts unforeseen By destiny and by chance I have collected metal from around the world since trading sepultura tapes with metal fans when I was 11. Metal is life. \m/ |

I want to listen my old Jackyl CD's! |
emo is not metal and visa versa; just like heavy metal isn't death metal or metal for that matter.
have a listen to bleeding through, august burns red, parkway drive, suffer well (this isn't emo, it's NEW "nu" METAL) |

My guitar rock vocabulary ends at around the mid 80's. Kind of before everyone decided it was cool to detune some whole steps, play as fast as possible and swallow their tongue to get the right voice. Some of that is ok in small doses.

"Caught In The Middle" is my favorite song on Holy Diver. PS- I Speed at Night is on The Last in Line, not Holy Diver. |

By the way Lamb of God is the only real metal to come around since Pantera.

This may not be your tastes, but if you look hard enough at blogs and youtube, you can find metal in the genre you like that gets you going. listen to all of these links and tell me there's not someone's work you can explore further. |

Were you with them before they were the backing band for Deadly Seven? Trying to remember the lineup then. Their lineup changes more than Green Jello's lineup. |

For the record, there are some decent newer metal bands like Gojira, Mastodon, Volbeat, Ghost, Toxic Holocaust, Municipal Waste - but most of those guys are either older cats that finally made it or younger guys emulating (or in some cases) staling from older bands. The guys in Mastodon are good friends of mine and they are all 38-40 years old. They are not kids. Nile was brought up a few times too, I like them as well -- they formed in 1989.

We had a nice scene going here in Vegas for awhile, then politics got in the way with the venues that actually allowed (real) metal bands to play and it went to shit again. |
music isn't what it used to be in general in my opinion.

|
Probably one of the hardest metal songs to come out in the last decade.:thumbsup |
