Blinging up a bit to pick up sluts is more fun then it sounds. I was not adverse to it when i was single. |
Most of rolex are ugly watches, go with something else, there are plenty of quality brands.

I think everyone here realizes they arent an investment in the same way a car isnt an investment. But then again if you could sell your car 5 years later for 50%-90% (in the case of a properly maintained rolex)of the value of what you paid for it, or you could sell your other car for 25-50%(or in the case of out of style watch, 10-25% ?), which would you prefer? |

Like I said, BUY ON EBAY :) there are plenty of distressed assets there. I bought my first watch at a ben bridge 10 years ago, now I just buy on ebay. Dont buy retail and you wont have a problem with overpaying. and so what, if you take it off, wind it when you put it back on, or buy a watch winder if you are too lazy. Its jewelry not a time piece, thats just a bonus. |

I actually own 2, A stainless Submariner (that I bought from a great friend of everyone here :thumbsup) and a 2 tones Yachtmaster... LOVE them
http://www.limitedwatches.net/IMAGES...ter2tone11.jpg http://famewatcher.com/wp-content/up...submariner.jpg This is actually the cheapest watch you can buy. Few will worth more few years after you bought them... You spend 200 on any watch and 3 years after it's worth next to nothing... You invest 10k on a Rolex and few years later, it's worth 12-13k if you took good care of it... WCS it's still worth 10k Just my :2 cents: |

If you're going to invest a significant amount of money into a watch buy one that holds value. Rolex is a good example of this, Jaeger Lecoultre also hold value. Something like a Luminor by Panerai also holds value well. Something like a Patek Philippe in some cases appreciates in value. If your going to drop a lot of money on a watch makes sure it will maintain it's value, that way in a few years when your style changes you at least can sell it for something to buy your next one. |
I have a Rolex it is a 1981 Presidential with Onyx Face and 18k Diamond bezel. I worked hard for it and glad I have it. It does make a difference in the way people react around me. Normally if I rolled into a store the sales people look at me and go on with whatever they were playing on their phone, but as soon as they see my Rolex they totally change their tune. And it happens everywhere we go, I guess crooked dudes on scooters aren't supposed to have any money?

If you don't wear your Rolex all the time it's best to store it on an automatic winder.

Here is my watch on my trusty watch winder mentioned earlier. I try to wear my Rolex as much as possible but occasionally have to turn it around when in different areas so a crooked dude don't get rolled for my Roly. http://p.twimg.com/Am9mB28CQAA9rzC.jpg |

no and never will...
I would rather consider Longiness, Breitling or Vacheron Constantin but I don't wear watches at all since I have my cell phone with me... |

But it's true gold is a softer metal so it scratches easier than stainless... My Yachtmaster have a very minor scratches that I'll get buffed at my next service |

I would have thought on something as high end as a Rolex that would not be the case. I admit looking at them from time to time, in regards to purchase, but many of those high end watches have those metal wrist bands. I do not like those, and haven't since I was a kid. They pull the hair on my arm. Given the choice, I prefer a nice quality leather wristband, and a large face watch. :2 cents: |

The price of gold has more then doubled since I bought it. Now it is nice that I can get 12k since if it was anything else it would be worth zero. |
