Total waste of money.
Unless you are sick or live in Africa you get plenty of vitamins through your daily food. Even if you eat at Macdonalds.
Taking extra vitamins does absolutely nothing.
I repeat: it does absolutely nothing. You just piss it out again.

LOL - okay Mr. Knowitall!

Try the scivation stuff, it is the dog's bollocks mate; seriously. I've tried ON and found it too bland, I've tried Sci Mentor and found it too sweet (like a McDonalds shake), tried Dymatize and it was awful and chalky tasting, tried MetRX stuff and wasn't any better. Scivation on the other hand is brilliant and mixes with a fork.

Choopa Phil 03-26-2012 07:54 AM

For all you guys dead set on taking whey post workout check out www.muscleegg.com. They are fantastic and a WHOLE food source not some powdered caca. If you must drink whey check out www.nutrabio.com they use medical grade protein and its among the best

Hey Choopa I meant to ask you do you know anything about l'carnitine?

Very good stuff ESPECIALLY if you are on a ketogenic diet. CLA, L'cart, and sesamin will all be helpful

Yeah? Okay. It is sold in Canada in health food stores but IS it different stuff than in the States (regulations) or same thing? I heard it was illegal before? What's the scoop.

pimpmaster9000 03-26-2012 08:02 AM

whey and a multi vitamin/mineral is all you need...

Not different, not sure why it was scheduled either in Canada.

hydroxycut is crap compared to other stuff that is out. Oxyelite pro, Musclepharm Shred Matrix, Lipo 6 all are much better. Or go tried and true ECA stack...

Frank21 03-26-2012 08:23 AM

Alive multi vitamins after american health vitamins were banned by the european union dictatorship.
And some whey shakes cause they taste so good.

Is this your standard response whenever you want other people to do the leg work for you? Do a few google searches and you'll have all the answers you need. Don't get me wrong, now all supplements are created equal but a lot of them have rightful places on the shelves of anyone serious about being healthy.

Admittedly, I shouldn't really use gaspari superpump or scivation extend but they do give me a boost in the gym.

As for whey protein, I don't think I really want to take in 240 grams of protein in chicken and eggs (I hate fish) so the whey protein is a great substitute.

Funnily, a Dutch research, published in the Journal of Physiology, found that carnintine ( a compound found in red meat) helps to burn fat stores AND plays an important part in increasing muscle mass.

Now, I don't eat a lot of red meat so something like l-carnitine would be a GREAT supplement for me. Everything has a purpose and just because you don't want to believe that, doesn't make the rest of society wrong.

Hydroxycut health risks

ECA stacks are illegal in some countries due to it containing ephedrine.

Anything made by musclepharm is NFS certified and tested. ECA is a stack you make yourself, and Oxyelite (new formula) is also NFS Certified. I get all my stuff in raw form and make my own stacks. Premade "proprietary blends" are for the birds.

why the hell are you eating 240 grams of protein a day? I was taking less than half that in a day and I was stronger than most people in this thread.. (i'm still pretty strong, just not big on the power lifting thing anymore.)

If most of your vitamins and proteins are coming from pills and powders than your kidney's and liver are taking a pounding. Stop it now.. those things aren't easily replaceable...

Dude, the company voluntarily recalled 14 of it's products. A known brand name does not mean safe supplements.

Glen...remember a while back when me and you had gone back and forth about how much protein powder i was intaking? Well long story short...blood work was all coming back fine, but my GI tract was MESSED UP, i couldnt eat, i was constantly force feeding just to get in nutrients. I will NEVER ingest protein in powder form EVER again. Whole foods or go home.

LOL - what gave you the impression I got my protein and vitamins from pills and powders? I consume about 1900 cals on training days and about 1650 cals on non training days, split respectively like so: (240 was just an arbitrary number i threw out there)

Protein: 220 grams
Carbs: 140 grams
Fat: 52 grams

Non-training days:
Protein: 185 grams
Carbs: 115 grams
Fat: 50 grams

I have 6 meals on training days which consists of 2 protein shakes for a total of about 60 grams of protein. On non training days, it is a single shake which accounts for 30 grams of protein.

I make up the rest of my carbs, proteins and fats with nuts, salad veggies, chicken, eggs, oats, sweet potato and am going to try for the first time quinoa.

On the Joe Rogan Experience? I caught a few of those on a road trip. Enjoyable stuff. Did you hear the one where they opened the show talking about not fucking the powder as opposed to ingesting it? LOL.

Thanks, I've been looking into muscle egg, and you just gave me an excuse to look deeper.

Thank you again. I'm keto about 70% of the time when I'm not bulking, and these are worth checking out.

They just sent me samples of OxyE ... I was thinking of popping them open and seeing what happens. Last time I did ECA, this happened:

But then, I was very underweight for the fight, and THIS happened (LOL):

If it makes you feel better i have literally 8 gallons of chocolate egg whites in my fridge. They give me ZERO issues whatsoever and taste identical to yohoo. Best thing is you can cook with them too. Chocolate egg white pancakes FTW.

What? No article that shows you need extra vitamins? I wonder why.

Listen this not something i want to believe. This is a fact and any dr will confirm this. Extra viramins does nothing for you. I have no reason to make this up.
You seem very upset though? Let me guess, you spend shitloads on vitamins?

Dirty F 03-26-2012 09:13 AM

Btw why fo you cry about proteins and what not while i'm talking about vitamins? Are you a bit slow?

Choopa Phil 03-26-2012 09:15 AM

Dirty, with a proper balance you should be able to get all your vitamins and minerals, however the only way to tell if you are deficient in any of these areas is with a blood test. Every one is different, but you are correct in saying you piss most of it out if your diet is balanced...that is why they are SUPPLEMENTS ;)

I'm hardly upset, I spend the bare minimum on vitamins to be honest, I do spend on protein though but that is MY choice. I'm not asking you or forcing you to believe me or anyone else for that matter; you are free to believe what you want. You on the other hand seem to think whatever you say is gospel and while that does not upset me, it does sadden me .. it saddens me to know you think so highly of your opinions.

Cool, I'll crack the bottle and give 'em a shot next time I'm cutting. I'm 235 right now, next fight is 205, so I should trim about 15-20 "real" lbs before I do my 2-day water cut to make 205.
