Huh, for some reason I never thought of that. Is there a recommended amount to take for just regular everyday use? Thanks!

I managed to give up brewed coffee completely and caffeine entirely for a while there. I didn't get sleepy in the afternoon at all. Now I do drink some crappy instant coffee, and also like green tea with a bit of honey.

I drink coffee in the morning and in the evening

ill usually do 2-4 pills evenly spaced out. 150-200mg each. 600mg and 50mg of ephedra spread out through the day and you will be sure to get work done!

I read a study in a medical journal, and I'm sorry I don't remember which one it was just in my Doctor's office, about coffee and caffeine and effect on muscle performance.

It talked alot about how it used to be a banned substance in excess of X ammount and a bunch of stuff like that, but that after it was removed from the banned substance list its used decreased quite a bit. Anyway they did a study measuring the performance of muscle fibre both before and after caffeine. Muscles performed noticably better after drinking coffee. To eliminate it being a mental thing, the tests were performed again using electric stimulus to fire the muscles completely eliminating the brain from the picture.

Anyways, the thing that caught my eye about it the most and also your post was the same results WERE NOT observed from caffeine pills. It HAD to be natural coffee. :2 cents:

Warchild, care to post that article? Either way caffeine and ephedra stimulate both the CNS and skeletal muscle tissues and increase fat lipolysis. Fat burning = more caloric expenditure = muscles working harder :)

bns666 03-30-2012 09:23 AM

can't go through the day without it...

I wish I could. Like I said I don't remember exactly which journal it was. This was about a year ago or so I read it.

I do remember that although they were unable to pin point why exactly they thought coffee was making the muscles perform better, their working theory was that it made the individual muscle fibres fire harder and/or faster. If I have some time later I'll see if I can search it out online.

Definitely, I would love to read it. Caffeine by itself is also said to have the same effects as you state as well. Cool read none the less.

What brand do you get?

I'm married to a native Japanese woman, so she picks up most of the teas we drink, and the labels are usually in Japanese:

In the summer I love cold Barley tea (Mugicha), but most of the time I drink traditional hot Japanese green tea, although I change things up with Chinese and English teas from time to time, as well as some of the newer hybrid blends:

why not drink some tea or coffee instead and get some beneficial flavanoids along with the caffeine?

Clean water, deep breathing and mental focus exercises > coffee
