I don't know the full story for this case but affiliate reps should watch out if their employer asks them to basically commit fraud. In some jurisdictions it's possible that falsely claiming payments have been sent in order to get an affiliate to continue sending traffic (a good or service) while having good reason to know that the payment has not and likely never will be sent might be considered a fraudulent activity. If the amount were $xxxx I personally wouldn't be beyond contacting my local authorities as well as those in the sponsor and rep's jurisdiction about possible criminal charges. I'd do it out of principle and to make life hell for someone who cheated me because I know the squeaky wheel often gets the grease.

Claiming you were just following your employers orders is no defense to fraud. While it's unlikely to actually lead to persecution stranger things have happened and that doesn't mean a pissed off affiliate couldn't try.

My belief as an affiliate rep is that my affiliates are my responsibility. If there is a payment issue, it's my job to make sure it's handled. I don't think I have ever told one of my affiliates to talk to accounting. That's my job.

Whether other affiliate reps feel the same way, I have no idea. Just sharing my approach.

My thread and your thread are polar opposites... And you would have received your Paxum payment just as quickly as you did had you just hit up accounting in Email or ICQ and explained the situation... Making your thread didn't do anything to speed it up. They were already going to pay you via Paxum... Which takes time because they have to send it to Paxum and then from there to you. Funding the account takes time on Paxum's side.

Bottom line, you don't need to act like a douche bag, try to carry yourself as a professional. That means even when you are having issues with someone you don't have to act like an asshole, you don't need to threaten people, make personal attacks.

Calling out the company is one thing if you didn't get paid and leave it at that. I doubt very much Derek has anything to do with why you were paid late.

Just have some common decency, treat people how you expect to be treated.
