P.S. People in this thread write about file lockers like the business model itself is illegal.:

no its about pirate sites not even trying to pose as a "file locker" and a dishonest and immoral move by a payment processor against its legit clients...

alextokyo 04-06-2012 01:53 PM

Since you obviously feel strongly about this, what are you doing to change things? Besides bitching about it on boards and sending dozens of emails to auto-responders that no one ever checks, of course. Hoping that someone else will step in put a stop to whatever you feel wronged about isn't going to work... we're talking money here. :2 cents:

Instead of hoping that mass complaining to others will change things, how about actually getting your shit together doing something about it? Too much effort, I guess. It's easy to just sit back whinge.

The Rosa Parks of Internet piracy certainly isn't here with us on GFY :1orglaugh

I'll do what I usually do, which is once I find my content on there I'll get Visa directly involved, and they carry a big fucking stick. I also get the domain registrar, hosting company, and any other biller involved. My content gets removed without dispute or delay. I've already had a few clowns people kicked from their host and their billing terminated, as well as their whois privacy removed and their domain names shut down.

That's what I do. What about you?

RegUser 04-06-2012 03:03 PM

If anyone could do much about this then why are so many file locker sites out there still happily accepting Paypal?

File lockers themselves are not illegal in any way, nor do I have any problem with one that is used for legit purposes. It's the content on some of them that is the issue.

Paypal will suspend accounts if they don't respond fast enough for a DMCA. The problem is, too many people don't involved Paypal in their DMCA. They should. Paypal has suspended accounts before over this and will do it again.

candyflip 04-09-2012 08:09 AM

Back from the holiday. Maybe a response today.

But it works fine for me, it has worked before and will work again. I have close to 2000 domains and can send out 2000 unique bitch e-mails too all the right places:

Visa
Mastercard
American Express
Diners
Paypal
Their hosting
Their payment processor
Their merchant account provider (not the same as payment processor or bank)
Their bank (merchant account)
Their domain registrar (False whois = reason to bitch on to ICANN.ORG if registrar does not act)

I am surprised at how easy it is in fact. And quite surprised by how little action others take. You are completely wrong with your assumption that nothing can be done. If everybody on this board got together and complained things would change easily. I guess the real question is: have you ever tried it? because you would be surprised at how easy it really is.

The CCBill signup page appears broken (no signup, just some junk about waiting for confirmation). There's no link to a CCBill signup page from the home page of the site.

Was the CCBill page ever actually functional? Do/did they in fact process for uploaded.to, or is uploaded just wishing?

Considering Megaupload's hassles over money laundering, I'd be shocked to learn CCBill is servicing any file locker that charges for downloads and pays a lead for signups. That's bad for any paysite that uses CCBill, and places a lot of risk on sites that don't have a backup biller. Danger, Will Robinson!

It might not disappear, but it looks like CCBill is going to ignore it.

It's great that you care about this but would you also consider doing something about the Leaderboard banner for Facial Abuse at the top of Extreme-Board.com? By paying them you help support every one else getting their content stolen.

These are good questions. I attempted one test and did not appear to get CCBill at least for my test. Does anyone ever get ccbill as a processor when they try it?

do you think I want to pay that? At least it affords me protection (for the most part) to get my stuff off at a simple request.
it's blackmail but it keeps my stuff off of one of the biggest offenders of my content. It's cheaper than any other option.
enough of this crap brah.

Porn Guardian or Remove your Content can't handle them? They don't respond to DMCA requests? Just curious.

Don't ask them. Report every illegal file you find on uploaded.to to VISA and MC directly. Believe me, it won't get too long...

Hint: uploaded.to does process bestiality via ccbill.

Working on a script that will send 100-s of unique e-mails with rotating domains and IP-s and a human throttle say 4-5 e-mails/day to each company (visa/amex/mastercard/their bank ect) to make it seem not automated. Leave it on autopilot and let it work its magic long term.
