these are fucked up times.... :Oh crap :Oh crap

scottybuzz 04-08-2012 03:12 AM

It doesn't matter what people say, or what arguments they give;

the simple fact is if you are carrying a gun to the supermarket, then you are living in a seriously fucked up state of mind.

SomeCreep 04-08-2012 03:14 AM

These things happen

ilnjscb 04-08-2012 05:25 AM

95% of people want to be safe and enjoy their lives, and not bother anybody. 5% want to be assholes and fuck everything up. Same as trolls, the assholes have a very outsized influence. Same with bullies in classrooms, etc. That one asshole puts everyone else on edge. People are so worried about being victimized by that one asshole, or troll, or bully, that they change their whole behavior to protect themselves. They become defensive, suspicious, even take on some characteristics of the people they're worried about.

Three solutions:

1. Relax
2. Protect yourselves
3. Revenge

Who knows which is best?

Yeah because if everyone has a gun on him things are so much safer. Makes perfect sense.

That's what I was going to reply with, when I got whatever answer from the people who think using your CCW is stupid.

ALL I have to say is the people who are against people carrying a weapon for protection, who have passed a class and back ground investigation, to not worry we will still protect you from the people carrying that do Not carry leaglly and commit crimes!

Indeed. Cowboys like him are the real problem. In many places in the US you are way more likely to get into a conflict with an idiot with a gun like him than a criminal.
I'm happy we only have criminals here and not tons of responsible gun owners walking around with guns in the supermarket who can't wait to use them.

Can any gun nut answer me this?

A ordinary, hard working decent man who has earned his right to carry a gun suffers a serious mental breakdown. (it can happen to anyone) would you like this guy to have access to a gun or not?

The odds that he has a teenager texting like mad as she t-bones you at an intersection are a lot greater. But to answer your question, no, I wouldn't want a gun owner to have a nervous breakdown. Nor a cop, nor a soldier, nor anyone else with a gun.

And you would have laws passed in case someone has a nervous breakdown? If that ever becomes the case gun owners are the least of everyones worries.

.

ThunderBalls 04-08-2012 10:51 AM

The problem with the gun nuts is they arent the brightest bunch and I'd say that Zimmerman fella represents them quite well; low IQ, social outcast, and convinced everyone is a criminal due to the thousands of hours spent watching FOX News.

True, but computers and the internet helped a lot of those get out of their moms basements and get laid, whereas guns never increased anyones IQ. :1orglaugh

Well I read articles all the time about criminals hurting people in stores.

I also read articles that I have to dig up about crimes being prevented because of people with CCW.

This leads me to believe, and with the current news about Zimmerman, the news is ready to jump on any involvement with a person caring a weapon legally, if he went crazy.

You said
"Cowboys like him are the real problem. In many places in the us you are way more likely to get into a conflict with an idiot with a gun like him than a criminal."

Prove it, let's see the stats.

Show me how many people with CCW have went crazy and did something bad Vs. People being protected either in their own homes or on the streets with a person who carries legally!

Now don't twist my words, I know there will be some, I didn't say NONE go bat shit crazy.

Also, just think of all the people who have guns who are well not Criminals, besides not getting a CCW who have weapons on them right now? Guess as scared as you are of someone with a CCW going crazy and getting into a scuffle with, you better just stay in your home, and pray no one does a home invasion. (Hit them with your Keyboard) HAHA

Don't the stats speak for themselves on this already? Americans have the right and ability to arm themselves daily. America has one of the highest murder and violent crime rates of any first world nation. Compare that to countries where guns are restricted to military, police forces, hunters, and other security-oriented professions. I don't think this is an experiment that is still waiting for the results to come in.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_the_United_States
Crime rates per 100,000 people in the US in 2010:
Violent crime rate 403.6
Homicide rate 4.8
Property crime rate 2,941

According to http://www.unodc.org/documents/south...stice_2010.pdf
The homicide rate per 100,000 in the last reporting period was approximately (page 13-19):
United States: 7
Canada: 2
U.K: 2
Serbia: 4
Estonia:7
"Available data from 61 countries indicate that the percentage of homicides committed by firearm varies from 10 percent in countries in East and Southeast Europe to around 75 percent in Central America and the Caribbean."

:thumbsup

I'd like to know how many of these gun crimes are related to "legal" weapons?
How many of them wouldn't happen if it wasn't so easy to get hold of a gun?

I can see the whole protect yourself view and why people would want to, but at the end of the day you are carrying your gun to protect you from somebody else who could be carrying a gun most of the time.

Let me guess. Your education was very limited? What a suprise that you also happen to be a gun nut.

Dirty F 04-08-2012 04:18 PM

I don't get it. The gunfreaks here keep saying that more guns = more safe. Yet your idiot country has more crime than basically any other country where the only people with guns are the police and criminals. Anybody care to explain? I must be missing something.

because they all believe the millions and millions of pro-gun propaganda which is churned out by the right wing and i assume people funded by the gun industry.

of course all the facts that say more guns = less violence don't hold up to any scrutiny. just propaganda to keep people spending money on guns.
