He is just being cautious of the crazy society we live in. Would you not want to protect yourself or family or innocent person if you needed to? I do not want to hear the macho I would beat someone's ass, I don't need a gun or knife. You would be cut or shot, so is that smart? Let the crime just happen against you, your family, or other innocent person? My Brother took 2+ bullets protecting a lady in a Lubby?s restaurant in Killeen Texas. A crazy person drove his car right through the window got out and started dropping people. My brother was not armed, at the time, and blocked a shot with his body for a lady at the salad bar. he then went to disarm the guy with the gun and was shot again. Another lady in the store visiting from a state where she had a CCW went to her purse to pull her gun, but she did not have it with her, because at the time Texas was NOT CCW. Have a Nice day. |

"In response to the massacre,[5] the Texas Legislature in 1995 passed a shall-issue gun law, which requires that all qualifying applicants be issued a Concealed Handgun License (the state's required permit to carry concealed weapons), removing the personal discretion of the issuing authority to deny such licenses. To qualify for a license, one must be free-and-clear of crimes, attend a minimum 10-hour class taught by a state-certified instructor, pass a 50-question test, show proficiency in a 50-round shooting test, and pass two background tests, one shallow and one deep. The license costs $240 to $290, depending on the added instructor's fee. The law had been campaigned for by Dr. Suzanna Hupp, who was present at the time of the shootout where both of her parents were shot and killed. She later expressed regret for obeying the law by leaving her firearm in her car rather than keeping it on her person due to the fact that it could have cost her her chiropractic license.[6] She testified across the country in support of concealed handgun laws, and was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1996.[7] The law was signed by then-Governor George W. Bush.[8] . |

It doesn't matter what people say, or what arguments they give;
the simple fact is if you are carrying a gun to the supermarket, then you are living in a seriously fucked up state of mind. |
These things happen
|
95% of people want to be safe and enjoy their lives, and not bother anybody. 5% want to be assholes and fuck everything up. Same as trolls, the assholes have a very outsized influence. Same with bullies in classrooms, etc. That one asshole puts everyone else on edge. People are so worried about being victimized by that one asshole, or troll, or bully, that they change their whole behavior to protect themselves. They become defensive, suspicious, even take on some characteristics of the people they're worried about.
Three solutions: 1. Relax 2. Protect yourselves 3. Revenge Who knows which is best? |

Can any gun nut answer me this?
A ordinary, hard working decent man who has earned his right to carry a gun suffers a serious mental breakdown. (it can happen to anyone) would you like this guy to have access to a gun or not? |
Quote:
And you would have laws passed in case someone has a nervous breakdown? If that ever becomes the case gun owners are the least of everyones worries. . |
The problem with the gun nuts is they arent the brightest bunch and I'd say that Zimmerman fella represents them quite well; low IQ, social outcast, and convinced everyone is a criminal due to the thousands of hours spent watching FOX News.

True, but computers and the internet helped a lot of those get out of their moms basements and get laid, whereas guns never increased anyones IQ. :1orglaugh |

I also read articles that I have to dig up about crimes being prevented because of people with CCW. This leads me to believe, and with the current news about Zimmerman, the news is ready to jump on any involvement with a person caring a weapon legally, if he went crazy. You said "Cowboys like him are the real problem. In many places in the us you are way more likely to get into a conflict with an idiot with a gun like him than a criminal." Prove it, let's see the stats. Show me how many people with CCW have went crazy and did something bad Vs. People being protected either in their own homes or on the streets with a person who carries legally! Now don't twist my words, I know there will be some, I didn't say NONE go bat shit crazy. Also, just think of all the people who have guns who are well not Criminals, besides not getting a CCW who have weapons on them right now? Guess as scared as you are of someone with a CCW going crazy and getting into a scuffle with, you better just stay in your home, and pray no one does a home invasion.
