Did both. Ended up with iphone 4s.
|
Wife had an Iphone 3GS and I have a new Ipod Touch and new Ipad (for dev reasons).
I'm honestly not impressed with IOS 5 at all. I am borrowing a Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket from a friend and put ICS Android 4.0.3 on it and am pretty impressed. So much so that we ordered an HTC One X for my wife yesterday. I'll be getting the Samsung Galaxy S3 when it comes out for myself as well. Even the Iphone 4S looks pretty dated compared to the newer android devices... One gripe I had was that push email was slow with the built in android mail client. After playing around with it for a bit, I just replaced the mail app with K9 Mail and now push is even faster than my old Blackberry Torch. Pretty impressed... also the new Snapdragon S4, Tegra 3 and upcoming quad core Samsung chips just leave the Iphone 4S behind... but get used to a big phone, the androids are much bigger than an Iphone but lighter and slimmer... the huge HD 4.x' screens take up some space though. |
I won't be giving up my Samsung Galaxy S2 any time soon...
Don't get me wrong, Apple makes great products... but their business model is apparently based around hand holding and spoon feeding. It's becoming increasingly difficult to jailbreak Apple devices, and considering I'm the kind of person who wants my money's worth, I will not be forking over any money on a device that I don't have complete control over. That is where Android devices shine. Rooting your phone is a cinch, and once rooted, you can do whatever the hell you want with it. And that is precisely why I spent the money on my Samsung Galaxy S2 and not an iphone. Precisely why I'll be forking over the cash for an Asus EEE T300 (or probably the TF201 since there don't seem to be many huge differences between the 2) tablet and not an ipad. Now, if Apple were ever to take a step back and realize that people who buy their products should be able to do whatever they want with them, then perhaps I'd fork over the cash for one of their products. But until then, fuck em. |
I have an Android phone, but all I know is that wherever I am, I'm surrounded by people using iPhones.

i do like the look of the htc one but the screen is too big my desire fits inside of it

Those who spend money... buy an Apple.
Those of us who make money - Andriod. |
I prefer Iphone :)

Seems all the havenots have Androids. They talk about how great the phone is and people who have a iPhone just use the thing. iPhone 4s is what I use, and if the 5 has a larger screen or 4g on Verizon I will upgrade to it. |
I hated my Motorola Droid but absolutely love my Iphone, there is no contest really
|
Andriod:thumbsup

Least we can use the GFY app on an Android.

Everyone I know locally has an iPhone, and seems to have some beef with them. There is the AT&T coverage, or some other quirk they have with the phone. I have an iPad2, but have never had an iPhone. Simple did not want one, and played with plenty.
I went with the Android Razor 4G from Verizon when I left Virgin. I couldn't be happier. The coverage is EXCELLENT no matter where I have gone so far. Which is both in, and out, of Michigan. Which is more than I could say for Virgin or AT&T, which were my last two carriers. :disgust |
I'm loving my Droid Razr Maxx here, it's pretty amazing. I don't know why anyone would want the small Iphone screen, that'd drive me nuts after having the bigger screen.

I prefer Android because I feel like the Apple brand is for vegetarians who wear recycled clothing and people who need to feel cool. I am neither.
I also don't like how Apple censors adult apps and has no flash support. I don't need them protecting me from content, I am an adult and should be able to easily (out of the box) look at whatever I want. Yeah there are hacks and plugins etc but Apple just likes being a big pain in the fucking ass. |
I've had both, I prefer an iPhone. My android experience (as a phone, outside the kindle):
- Buy new phone - Download Skype - Skype requires a driver - I go to download driver - Driver unavailable Thank God it's just a phone I got for my girl lmao. |
iPhone hands down. Well worth the slave labor.

android xt720,use better

Ok my wife got her HTC One X last Wednesday, and I got mine on Sunday.
So far I'm blown away. I was using a Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket with hacked version of Android ICS 4.0 before that. The One X is leaps and bounds better than the S2. The resolution is insane (720x1280), the cpu is super fast (0 lag), etc... I also have a new Ipad and newest Ipod Touch (similar to Iphone 4) and have to say Android really makes Apple's OS and products in general look pretty dated and simple. I really think with the Iphone 5, Apple is really going to have to step up their game. Maybe come out with two sizes... The Iphone 4S is just tiny compared to the One X, kind of looks like a toy. Also never have been a fan of phone cases, but the One X is just too thin. I don't feel comfortable grabbing for it. I caved in and got a rubber case for it... |

Main thing the S3 does better is that it has a microSD card. Even the quad core 1.4 in the S3 is hard to say if it's any better. The dual core 1.5 in the US version of the One X is faster in about half of the tests done against it's international quad core 1.5 version... so... The battery life is also a ton better than the S2. Pretty much have 50-60% left at the end of the day. With wifi, bluetooth and 4G LTE active. Also clocked in at 30mb down and 8mb up with the One X on LTE... get around 20/2 on my cable modem  |
