You put text for seo and pics for visitors. Very few of them will be reading it, but text would be the thing that got them on your site to see pics :)

Why could not it be fun for someone? Many people like to enjoy porn, in this case you not only enjoy it but also enjoy the fact that you are making some beer money while doing it :)

His hobby is creating something. Similar to someone whittling small little pieces of wood. Personally, small crappy little ornaments mean nothing to me but whoever does it obviously likes it. Who am I to judge?

And on a seperate note - I like this thread. Gives a newbie like me some perspective. I have actually done something similar with my paysite, and have been updating a forum with all the exact details of every step of the way. I'm not secretive and my little paysite can serve as a learning tool for others trying to make something for themselves.

I build adult websites as a hobby. I enjoy building websites, checking stats, improving sales...I have built my network from the ground up and it's a great feeling seeing your work pay off. I would build mainstream sites but frankly mainstream bores me to death.

Have been a bit busy with real work so have only managed to spend an hour this week doing a few more updates and link trading.

So that is 40 uniques a day total to all 4 sites? Spend more time on keyword research then deep link trading and blog post trading to back those keywords up.

Where does one start for keyword research? I have some rough ideas, but have no real idea about deep links or SEO in general.

And yes it is 40UV per day across all 4 sites, so 10 per day per site on average

OK well so far in my first month i have spent approx 20 hours and $100 for no sales.

At this stage it isn't looking good. I will persist for another few months and see if i can generate enough traffic to make a small return. I may have to pay for some SEO as i just cannot seem to generate traffic on my own
