I disagree, this battle can and will be won. Behind the scenes I have been building relationships with several people and organizations who are willing and able to act in regard to certain aspects of this issue.

I can't go into lots of detail, however I have made the breakthrough with Paypal public. With the Paypal dialogue, it's not some pleb I am in contact with, it's the Head of Brand Risk Management of the Paypal legal department. You can't get any higher than her when it comes to shutting down Paypal accounts.

The difficulty is that with many of these contacts I am making, it would jeopardize any action if I was specific about it on this or any other forum. So you'll just have to trust me.

AlexShark 06-29-2012 03:05 AM

mmm... don't you fear consequences, like being sued for defamation etc for pointing fingers to all those sites.
I mean, this is not like calling some GFY member an idiot.
I fear that you probably end up messing around with guys with a big legal team behind them (as well as big pockets) .
Anyway good luck :)

I have my own legal counsel here in Australia and not a word is being said without passing it by them. I don't fear being sued as in our country truth is a defense to defamation proceedings.

This campaign just didn't appear overnight, it was the result of many months of planning and forethought, it started small but in just a few days became a major effort, so much so that I am dedicating 3 months full time to it.

So in shortly no way to deal with tubes, maybe only suing for unfair competition.

Not correct at all. If they're willful infringers, they're in violation. An example of a willful infringer is me encouraging you to upload copyright infringing content, or me paying you to do so, or me doing it myself.

The ONLY way they can claim a safeharbor is if they're legitimately unaware of what's being uploaded. And in that case, the uploader is the willful infringer. You know what tubes are unaware of what's being uploaded? Tubes that have nothing on them. Yeah... that's because the owners are always aware of what's being uploaded... because it's them doing the uploading 99 times out of 100.

And BTW, using a 3rd party fingerprinting product also doesn't mean shit for safeharbor. If I didn't fingerprint my content, they're still in violation if they're using it.

So basically what I'm saying is there is literally no safeharbor loophole that would allow illegally used copyrighted content to stay online.

AdultKing 06-29-2012 04:12 AM

Can we please keep this discussion to shutting down file lockers ? Discuss the tubes elsewhere. I want this thread focused on file lockers and not GFY shitfights about tubes or anything else for that matter.

This is a ridiculous article with false information regarding our activities.
We are a website like RapidShare. Not like MegaUpload.
You may want to ask what is the difference. the difference is that we delete all reported content uploaded on our website which infrige copyrights.
We also delete all content and get measures against uploaders that upload child pornography.
We will not respond any more in further comments. This is just a false and maybe competitors originated article.
If you really want to help us, send us contents infriging copyrights or illegal material infriging the law in general and we will be there to help.

You are making great advances AK, congrats.

But are you sure it is necessary to make more blogs at this point? Since you've been already hooked with the higherups at paypal and have their attention, maybe it'll be better to focus on posting quality content for your two current blogs that are already running? They seem to get the job done, why spread the resource (time and money) thinner than necessary?

There's a game plan which involves a couple more sites but because the file locker community are monitoring these threads I won't divulge what it is.

Trust me, I'm not going to do anything that will distract me or take my time away from what's important.

They have HUNDREDS of paysites for $12.99 PLUS every other form of media.

THIS is what the internet is heading for. 100% homogenized content on THOUSANDS of file hosts.

I frankly doubt the train can be stopped anymore. Even AK in his last paragraph says Paypal and Visa/MC are mostly turning a blind eye to make huge profits that we USED to make for them.

The whole fucking adult industry is one big BITCH to file lockers. Maybe it is evolution. At any rate the conventional adult program is a joke for sure.

Filesharing might be winning for now but the party wont last forever. I see one of two possible outcomes. Either the people with legitimate talent that produce the content will no longer have any incentive to produce and you'll have nothing of any value to share or else the tide will turn and payment processing will wise up and the laws will actually catch up with the times. I believe the later is already starting to happen.

This is a winnable war on File Lockers, it needs to be carried out in stages but I believe we will prevail.

Dropbox is now stopping public accessible folders for its users. Most likely a bandwidth issue, but......

AdultKing 06-29-2012 05:05 PM

Uploaded.to hosts pirate copies of Windows, Hollywood movies, music and full site rips of Porn sites.

We're going to be going after this company hard.

krylon 06-29-2012 05:32 PM

you forgot mediafire, and dropbox. They also have a bunch of copyright files and full siterips.. do you need some screenshots? I can provide.

Thanks for the offer but I haven't forgotten any of them. There's other processes going on behind the scenes which I cannot go in to here as the file locker community is monitoring these threads. Suffice to say, we are publishing sites only when those processes are under way.

The blogs are a front end to the whole operation, people shouldn't think because a site isn't up there yet that we're not dealing with it.

livexxx 06-29-2012 05:55 PM

Dropbox has north of 50 million users

Owner Drew Houston has raised 275 million with a current valuation north of 5 billion and estimates of $200+ million revenue a year so far. I bet himself , Bono & Edge and Sequoia (early investors) would also question why they use paypal who work for the bad filelockers. Or perhaps they might also wonder what it was exactly people were storing in their public folders. I know they "cant" look in private ones, but surely they keep an eye on the public ones, or do they not want to know why they became so popular either......

This is not a tube discussion thread, please start your own, this thread is about killing off file lockers. Please do not attempt to derail it.

He's right about that. If you are public concern, and someone objects to your methods of doing business, and is correct about them, there is no liability whatsoever. He is not being malicious, he is legitimately objecting to their business practice.

Well... someone must decide that he is correct first.

He states: "Paypal processes CP" when nobody has ever checked those files, what about writing: "Paypal is processing memberships for some file hosting websites and some of the files served use a title that indicates that the content might be related to CP ?"

I am not saying he is doing a wrong thing but maybe he is doing the right thing in the wrong way and without thinking of consequences. Anyway it was just my advice (I am not a lawyer nor a judge)

From all I've read in all different places and through lots of information, some and not all, of those files are packed with illegal content.
This is not a frivolous case.

You seem intent on derailing this. What you don't understand that this project has oversight by very good lawyers and my resources are considerable enough to defend any issues. Truth is a defence to defamation in Australia, so there is no problem.

It does not matter if the files named as CP contain CP or not, the mere connotation that they do contributes to child exploitation and those seeking child exploitation material.

It's also a clear breach of Mastercard, Visa and Paypal processing regulations.

As I said. debate this in another thread, this thread is solely to focus on shutting down file lockers.

By far the worst example of a smaller file locker that we have seen which specializes in highly illegal content and accepts Paypal as payment. What has been learned about this file locker has made me sick to my stomach.

http://stopfilelockers.com/tenfiles-...ld-pornography

We will be paying extra special attention to closing this site down.

Tijuana_Tom 06-30-2012 06:24 AM

This battle can be won as long as this is a long term project for Adult King and not something he's doing this week because he's excited.

It's something that he will need to stay on-top of forever.

File hosting and Payment processing are two lucrative businesses that nobody will be willing to give up.

New companies will always pop up.

You also need to take this with a more anonymous approach you will get GFY and your own web properties, real life attacked. Yah you think you're tough but you're just very ignorant as to what you are doing.

It's not just me though, behind the scenes we are working with many agencies to attack this problem.

Also, you are right (surprisingly) which is why a legally incorporated association is being established to build this campaign into an ongoing effort.

globofun 06-30-2012 07:45 AM

Good job AK!

AdultKing 06-30-2012 08:07 AM

Megashare, operating since 2004 but not for very much longer. We are at quite an advanced stage of dealing with this site.

http://stopfilelockers.com/megashare...st-for-piracy/

I suspect there will be a lot of uploaders and affiliates very annoyed when they stop being paid.

Nautilus 06-30-2012 08:32 AM
