Not that I think it would be impossible to get a gun if they were illegal. I just want to throw perspective on what you said by pointing out that in a way, you're saying that it might as well be legal to buy herion, crystal meth, 12 year old people, explosives and killers for hire since you can get them illegally anyway.

Welcome to the revolution.

Trench coat mafia, motherfucker. These kids in Colorado love their rampaging killing sprees.

I'm guessing Colorado's gun laws are ridiculously lax?

Strange how that didn't stop the guy though? Your logic says if we say people aren't allowed to have/do something then it won't happen?!

Actually it encouraged him, because he knew there would be no "law abiding citizens" in there with a carry permit and packing heat :2 cents:

I can actually do all that in Montreal but yet you see way less crazy killing spree like this in countries where there are strick laws about fire arms then in a country where it is easy to get one.

With that said I also have to consider the amount of Canadians vs Americans and if we where so many, then maybe we would also have more crazies.

Needless to say, these people didn't deserve to die.

Sophie Delancey 07-20-2012 07:34 AM

Ugh. That is just terrifying.

Yeah, because things would be much safer with 20 cowboys packing heat in that theatre. God, that would've been one hell of a party.

Fuckin A it would have turned out different, probably the guy would never even have attempted it. He knew what he was doing planning his attack in a "gun free" zone. :2 cents:

GetSCORECash 07-20-2012 07:39 AM

So they let a guy with a gas mask into a theater?

blackmonsters 07-20-2012 07:46 AM

Any decent metal fabricator can make a gun in his basement.

The whole "make guns illegal to all people" is useless.
Criminals would have an orgy of home invasion robberies.

J. Falcon 07-20-2012 07:48 AM

It's never because of the guns... NEVER.

It doesn't matter that this shit always happens in the US, where it's incredibly easy to buy a gun.

Yeah I'm sure he was a very rational individual, who thought this out carefully.

The shooter, James Holmes, was from San Diego and only recently arrived in CO to pursue his PHD.

Thought it out carefully enough to leave his apartment booby trapped in an attempt to surprise police.

Tom_PM 07-20-2012 07:57 AM

The theater workers did not let the man in. He reportedly knocked on an Exit door from outside and someone inside the theater opened the door and let him in. They thought it was some promotional stunt at first.

Happened in Toronto Canada a couple weeks prior. :2 cents: In fact one of the girls killed last night escaped the Toronto incident.

So there goes your theory out the window because CA has pretty strict gun laws. :2 cents:

no, but it will make it harder.... there is a big difference between deciding to go on a killing spree when u can easily get your dads gun as opposed to having to figure out how to build a bomb or some other weapon capable of taking out a large number of people. it would make impulse killings drop significantly

i get that people like guns... and i get that people think everyone should have the freedom to buy a gun... but seriously, if you cant see that the country would be safer without millions of guns on the street i think you are fooling yourself :2 cents:

Random violence is what's "sick". Isn't that so, Machiavelli?

most handguns used in crimes in canada are not registered here (hence, illegal) and smuggled in from the US and sold on the black market.
