So there goes your theory out the window because CA has pretty strict gun laws. :2 cents:

And where do the majority of illegal guns come from?
Thank U.S.A. for exporting your gun problem north, we owe you one.

And for the truly ignorant, we have the longest undefended border in the world, there's is no realistic way to keep guns out of Canada.

And yet in the same country, a presidential candidate wants to ban porn?

Oh yeah because there is soo many people being killed by the adult sector :1orglaugh

the guy is most likely mentally ill and visits infowars.com on a regular basis. how many other crazies that went on a shooting spree frequent that site? its like a breeding ground for the delusional.

I don't live in fear of anything.

I don't live in fear of going to the movies, the mall, or sending my kid to college. The odds of me or my child facing something like this is pretty much nil.

My problem is we hand guns out like it's candy. My friend just got a divorce. His beautiful wife just drop kicked, he lost his house, lives in a crappy apartment, and he has no fucking social skills what so ever. He always wanted a gun, wife wouldn't let him, and now that he doesn't answer to his wife he decided to go out and get one. He passed the background check and went through the waiting period, but no one ever said "Hey, this guy just went through divorced and lost everything and there might be a problem here". They just said "okay" and now he's got a handgun even though he's a perfect candidate for loosing it all and going on a shooting spree.

There's no classes, no training, no mental check, no nothing.

Take guns out of it. We don't let people drink until they are twenty-one because they are not responsible enough to be trusted with drinking... Yet we have no fucking problem handing out a driver's license at age sixteen. Can't trust a twenty year with a beer, but we can trust a sixteen year old to pilot a guided missile down the same streets you and I drive. Not sure about you, but when I was sixteen I was a horrible driver - and I had a list of tickets and accidents to prove it. I totaled two cars before I was nineteen.

At the same time, the guns that are out there need to be locked down. It's a pretty simple concept - I don't live my keys in my car and no one can take my car. If you own a firearm, it needs to be physically on you or locked up, no exceptions. Telling me it's in your nightstand isn't good enough - your kid can get it, someone else's kid can get it, anyone can break into your house and get it.

At Lightspeed Cash we had a programmer and one night while I was with him he got pulled over. I had no fucking clue but he had enough firepower in the trunk of his car to start a serious war. He handguns, rilfes, and shotguns... He also a MAC10 and an Uzi. Why the fuck does a programmer need to carry a dozen firearms in his car on a daily basis?

you people are fucking idiots... it will not end it but make it WAY less.. let's say guns are illegal, yes you can still get them on a black market but it will be WAY harder then just go to the store and buy them...you need to know connections to get into black market to buy one, many under cover cops might pose as a seller and catch people left and right before they do anything... like if I wanted an illegal gun right now I would not know where to go and get one, that's a prove right there that it would stop a lot of people

This is what I don't understand with the USA. You can get married and own a gun at 16 but can't have an alcoholic drink at your own wedding to celebrate. You have to wait 5 years. The rest of the world is 18 for the most part, around the time you are done High School or in your first year of College/University. Perfect time to be legal to drink alcohol, you already made massive life decisions, I think you can handle some booze.

People use guns to shoot people. Take away the guns and people can't shoot people.

This fucker last night isn't going to take a baseball bat or a knife and kill a dozen people in thirty seconds. They use guns because it takes zero prep time, it's instant, and it's difficult to stop a gunman.

When I was in the Marines I was seventeen and wasn't allowed to drink. Go figure.

However, on base the legal drinking age was 18 and in town... Well, no one really carded back then. No one cared.

Things are a bit different down here.

Within a two week span five houses on my block were burglarized and in one instance the woman was home, she locked herself in the bathroom. And judging by the property taxes I pay, one might reasonably assume that this is supposed to be a "nice" neighborhood.

The other day I read about how even the banks are now hiring thugs to break into peoples houses and throw their shit out into the front yard. And these aren't even court sanctioned foreclosures. They're going after homeowners who are just two or three months behind or, in some cases, they target the wrong house altogether.

It's getting to be like the wild west all over again.

And you're wondering why people down here want to keep guns in their homes?

well there is probably no going back in the US as there are so many guns, if it were made harder to get them, there still so many out there previously. however, as much as people feel guns keep them safe, the easy availability of guns makes people unsafe, in my opinion.

here in canada, typically the only home invasions involving guns is one drug dealer robbing another. other home robberies are typically either done by kids or drug addicts who have a knife or nothing. there was one outside out of ottawa here a while back where the invader was killed with a baseball bat after threatening the homeowner with a knife.

I'm not saying taking away guns. I'm saying we need to raise the barrier to getting guns.

I'm a forty-three year old former US Marine and I have five identical assault riles in my house. Doesn't it strike anyone as being strange? No one comes to my house to inspect them once every other year, no one checks me out to make sure I'm not seeing a shrink....

My wife had a gun once. She was rather vague about where she got it from; It was just a small handgun. Twenty years later, oddly enough, we aren't sure what happened to it. I knew we had it in Danville (CA) when we first started dating, but shortly afterwards it disappeared. We aren't sure where or when. The problem is someone somewhere most likely has that handgun. There is no fucking tracking for any of this.

It's just like getting your driver's license. Pretty much if you can pass an eye test you can drive. You don't need a doctor's note proving your physically fit. Nearly every one has seen that video this week of the white SUV driving in the wrong direction, which is blamed on some "medical condition". My ten year old kid needs a physical to be in sports, but no one needs a physical to drive a car down the road with other drivers? When your twenty-five, that's fine. When your sixty-nine like my mother, that's fucking scary.

Is it asking too much to require us to have our firearms inspected once a year if only to prove that we still have them? Is it asking too much to require medical facilities to inform the state or federal government of any medical reasons someone shouldn't own a gun? Is it asking too much that if someone beats down their wife that their firearms be taken away from them?

If your doctor believes you are unable to drive a care safely, they can take away your DL. They should do the same with guns. On Medication for depression? First thing they should do before they hand over your pills is see if you have a gun permit.

Shooter was white. As are the majority of mass/spree killers. But you won't hear it talked about here. Now if the mugshot was a black guy...you'd surely have at least a page of racist shit being posted.

The thing that I find funniest is that

White Mass Killer = "he must be mentally ill"
Black Mass Killer = "somebody must have pissed him off"

Once again I'll have to repeat myself.

If you think making guns illegal wont stop people from getting guns, then why do we make things illegal? Why is heroine illegal? Why is human trafficking illegal? Why is crystal meth illegal? Why is driving drunk illegal? They wont be stopped from happening anyway... right?

Why do we lock our doors? People can just kick them in anyway.

Why do we post speed limits? People can just go as fast as they want anyway.

Why are there ANY regulations whatsoever in any society? People can just do what they want to anyway.

And by the way, I dont think they need to be illegal. I think there needs to be more strict REGULATION on who can get a freaking gun. Rights: INTACT. Deal with the opinion.
