I hear what you're saying, but as unreliable as Faux News & the propaganda machine? Not even close. He's a muckraker and rabble rouser (and not really my cup of tea), but he doesn't consistently tell blatant lies.

Those are the dangerous types. They mix just enough truth with their lies to make all of it sound real. They use facts, but present them in such a way that you will interpret them differently. They mention things that really happened and then link them to unrelated events. They pull quotes out of context to support their view. And then they turn it into a movie and cleverly market it.

American Movie is a documentary about two Wisconsin guys making their independent horror film "Coven".

And it is pure American awesomeness. It is not serious, it is hilarious.

Oxyana sounds interesting. I just watched American Juggalo and liked it a lot. I would love to see him to a follow up to it where he follows the lives of some of these people outside the gathering so we can see just how well the do function in everyday society.

Was it sensationalized or do you feel it was honest?

How can I see American Movie? Looks interesting.

I think it was pretty honest. It is about 20 minutes long and basically it is just a bunch of different people talking about why they go to the gathering and why they are Juggalos. Some of them are pretty articulate and others are not. I think he did a pretty good job of representing the different types of people that are there, but most of them come off as being pretty odd.

If you ever listen to the Ron and Fez show on the Opie and Anthony Channel on Sirius/XM they have Sean Dunne on a lot and he is super talented. He actually doesn't like ICP and feels that they are kind of scamming their fans, and as someone that followed the band 15 years or so ago I have to agree.

Ron and Fez had him on a few months back to talk about Oxyana and he brought his dad with him, who is actually a recovering pain pill addict and the inspiration for the new documentary. His dad was just the typical factory worker if I recall correctly that hurt himself, was prescribed pain pills, and got so addicted that he ruined his life and couldn't kick them for years. He even did jail time for doctor shopping and forging prescriptions.

If you like Billy Corben and the Rakontur guys that did the Cocaine Cowboys docs they are also working on a doc about the pain pill mills that are everywhere in South Florida...

The only exposure I have to ICP is from the few times they have been on the Howard Stern show. I think their music is shitty, but somehow they have figured out how to market themselves to a certain group and it works. Is it is a scam? I think to some degree it is. I have a feeling these guys don't live the life they promote.

I am fascinated by any "group" of people of come together like this. For me it is interesting how some people appear to need to be in a group like this in order to justify their beliefs or way of life.

As for Oxycontin, I can see how it could be easy to get addicted to. Not too long ago I got a small cut on my leg that ended up getting infected. Within about a week it went from being something I barely noticed to being a major, scary infection. I spent 4 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics and had to have 2 months of wound care afterwards. It was painful and they gave me Oxy as a pain killer. I was on the lowest dosage they had. I used it pretty sparingly and most days 1 pill solved my problem. I could take that without any odd side effects. If I took 2 or 3 pills when the pain was really bad I was as high as a kite and the sensation was euphoric. I could easily see how a person could quickly get hooked on it.

It looks like some of Sean's other shorts are online. I'll have to check them out.

I checked out of the 'traditional news' sheepdom 20 years ago and have seen plenty of other stuff that tells pretty much the same story. You'll never see it from traditional "news" outlets, but the truth is out there. And you don't have to dig too deep to find it.

If the movie wasn't close to the truth, no shills would have been paid to debunk it. Best thing is to hear both sides and see which makes more sense, but do keep in mind that Skeptic Project claims to debunk 9/11 :upsidedow They also constantly accuse people of being anti-Semites when nobody was talking about Jews; that's a tactic that's both dirty and desperate.

This is totally right on. The ironic thing is that most people on this board would vote for even MORE government control over the flow of money in the world, and increased control of multi-government entities, like the UN and the EU. We will happily hand over control and oversight of all our wealth to governments, (in the name of stopping the "greedy people"), and once that is done, it's all over. When governments control all of the banks, and all banks worldwide must report to all governments, and all transactions are watched, supervised and controlled by governments, then you have no power to do anything, as an individual. (watch the FATCA act, and watch governments all over the world enact the same thing.... and people will applaud while it happens. :Oh crap)

Mind you, I don't agree with ALL of the conspiracy theories in that video, since a lot of them require far too many people to be involved, and someone would talk, and also some of them don't even make logical sense..... BUT the end game being pushed is absolutely a world government that controls all of the money, and all the transactions.

The Skeleton Key or The Girl who turned to Stone are both good documentaries. Oh yea and I am in both of them for 15 seconds LOL but still very interesting.
