However, it doesn't matter. If someone was there and was armed to protect themselves, would they have been able to stop him?

We this idea that we MUST have guns to protect ourselves, yet every time we have a mass murder no one has a gun to stop the shooter. Why is that? A crowded movie with two hundred people in it, and not one person had a gun? Why is it every time there is a shooting in a mall no one has a gun to stop him?

Our right to defend ourselves is the primary reason shooters get guns.

I am relatively confident that conscientious gun owners are not in the habit of bringing their weapons to the cinema; however, that could change.

Bingo. Kind of defeats the entire purpose of self defense then huh?

In order to defend yourself with a firearm, you need to carry your firearm with you 24/7. This means you need to take it to the mall, church, the public pool, and carry it around with you when your in the back yard chopping wood.

Without your firearm, you cannot defend yourself.

I know, wow, that's a level of dumb that you really just do not expect to see, even in the american right wing.

I mean that is just SPECTACULARLY DUMB. That is glen beck watching dumb. limbaugh dumb.

so dumb that if the right wing had any self respect, which they dont, they'd be apologizing for just how dumb one of their people actually was.

and they'd make sure the white power types were kicked out of their circles.

another thing that ain't gonna happen. the right depends on covert racism.

and them sikhs do wear turbans.

added - but saying arrest bachmann does not make sense. the right can legitimately be ashamed, but, talking about arresting political personalities is not legitimte.

You might want to check your facts if you are not being funny. Mexico comes to mind...

I wouldn't pay much attention to baddog. I think over the years he's proved himself to be about as smart as his Bum Fights look presents. Although I guess he did manage to come up with the ever so clever marketing scheme of "Got WebHost?" all by himself. Well, sort of anyways. Perhaps it's just best if you stick to taking pictures of your food.

I think he's just upset that not only is the average Canadian much safer than the average American, but also worth more too.

Why does Mexico always come to mind for gun nuts? Is Mexico really the standard the USA should be comparing itself to?

Bill8 08-06-2012 04:11 PM

ya notice how none of the wingnuts are jumping in to claim this shooting happened because the guy couldn't get pussy?

but that was their first tactic with that joker asshole.

altho it was probably true in both cases.

Bill8 08-06-2012 04:22 PM

oh - and another person who appears to have read 2083 and adopted it's idea.

I predict more 2083 inspired shootings. it's brilliant tactics, if you are interested in that kind of thing.

actually I only call a certain class of rightwingers wingnuts.

and I do it to mock the way wingnuts call everyone names.

ya see, wingnuts can dish it out, but they cant take it. and they are always using cheap tactics to try to distract people from the core elements of an argument.

like you are trying to distract people from the INCREDIBLE DUMBNESS of a neonazi shooting up a sikh temple, which is my point.

if you dont want to be called a wingnut, dont use namecalling, and I'll take that as the sign that we have returned to civility and I can stop.

I dunno. I think he's made a pretty solid argument that Canadians are teetering on the verge of a mass national suicide but limited access to guns prevents this.

Most (almost all) of Canada's are suicides; that has to say something about living there.

And I suspect most of those suicides in Canada are Americans...

I know every time I am in Canada I want to empty my brains on the wall.
