Facebook is a soap box for attention whores, who feel that every moment in their existence is somehow meaningful to everyone.

As for those who spend all their time on farmville.. here's an idea.. go outside and plant a garden. At least you get something at the end.

I fail to understand why some people are not on Facebook. I understand it's not for everyone, and I'm not saying everyone needs to post to it on a regular basis, but just to be able to contact people.

Because of my kid I have lots of kids on my Facebook, so I'm very careful of what I say (and who I'm friends with). So I'm very tame about what I post on Facebook.

I don't understand issues about privacy. The entire point of Facebook is to share your life with your friends and family. If you don't want your shit being out there, don't be posting it on line on FB or otherwise.

kind of short sited to jump to that conclusion i'm sure most of us would agree. I think it has more to do with the amount of friends one has, real ones not just facebook adds. Shut ins morph logical thought into madness in a hurry without some outside exposure and you mix that with depression it can become a scary place.

Not sure why people keep regurgitating the same shit about "no way i'm gonna have all my personal info on there!!"? What are you talking about? Most people have their names on their and maybe their nearest city. Only a moron, or some teenagers would have more than that. You don't have to be an exhibitionist or an attention whore to be on a social network--that just seems to be the majority that we notice.

One reason is because they have no friends. I counted 21 "friends" on FB but to be honest I never talked to any of these people on the phone nor do I ever go out with them. Half of them I don't even know and the other 10 I met once or met in a class.

I have no friends.... I think 2 people posted on my wall since 2009 and one of them I never met before. Not everyone is a social butterfly.

I have never really "hung out" or even "gone out" with any of my 21 FB friends...

I actually only have or had 1 real friend in life. I'm a loner.
