I am an atheist myself, and I typically don't care to argue about religion much. The only thing that really fires me up is when people try to legislate their own dogmas on everyone. I embrace empirical facts over things that would have to be taken from a faith-based position.

I recently had a disagreement in a bar (yeah, smart, right?) with someone who kept pushing the issue, telling me that I was an idiot for believing that we came from monkeys (ha!) and when I attempted to explain what my true position is, he kept dismissing it and telling me that he was offended by my views that we all came from monkeys. That fires me up too.

What book that you have read or religious text do you base your belief in intelligent design? Why do you believe this one part of the story and not the others? They are inseparable. Do you choose only the parts that suit you from the dogmas you have had exposure to.

As far as Scientology goes, I will say one thing. I've lived lived in NYC for the better part of 13 years and the scene down in Chelsea outside of her apartment right after Katie Holmes filed for divorce was really fucking bizarre with all the bodyguards and the Scientologists.
