If he had put this up for sale back in the day he could have made a real killing had he been given a fair offer. The problem is I can't think of too many solo girl programs that have ever been able to sell for a fair price. He may have actually come out ahead by riding it out for the past 5+ years. My guess is he may have been able to sell for maybe 18months profit back then. It's very possible he's made 2 or 3 times that since then.

:thumbsup

Whoever buys it should try to get the raw photos and videos and reprocess the member content and promo - it's fantastic, legendary stuff, but the pics are REALLY small. Like little baseball cards.

I'll bet he wouldn't be selling if that were the case. Running a pay site without working is easy and profitable if you have and get members.

There will be more announcements like this soon. I know of more.

Especially if you add to that all the folks that were supposedly rolling over and paying him in his extortion racket.

If it was working, work it until you've run it into the ground and maybe then sell.

Oh wait... :1orglaugh

Still waiting for the other shoe to drop....

But if not...

These sites could be redesigned by a good artist in 2 weeks to look like money. Then have their backend switched up to be like TeenRevenue.com sites... Huge cha-ching!

Haha.. No shit there. Typical adult ego though to go toe-to-toe versus ATT, Comcast, etc. Stevie must think these companies are broke like him though. https://mobile.twitter.com/fightcopy...0503942144?p=v :1orglaugh Enjoy racking up those bills! :thumbsup

I am sure I have some links up somewhere out there. Eventually as I go through my different domains and streamline my network I will be taking them down, but that is one of those projects that seems to be forever lost on the back burner.

Curious as to the original content sizes as well. Some of it's from back in the days of floppy discs, which is part of it's charm.

Best wishes on the sale. Hope it finds a good home. :thumbsup

Yeah the pay site money has dropped a lot, mine went from 55K, to 16K in the last few years, That is a big ass drop. This year I am on pace to do a lot better then last year because I have put some effort into it and if my site is this small with such a small amount of traffic I still have a lot of rebills from over a year now. I would think he should have 1000 times more then I do.

Everyone is forgetting the YEARS of Emails collected... Oh wait, those are burnt up now. I forget I keep getting spammed all the time now by third party mailers he teamed with!

grzepa 09-09-2012 02:35 PM

I remember i was making good money with his sites, and the retention was also great.

Paul Markham 09-09-2012 03:06 PM

Reasons for selling a working paysite.

Steve needs the money to invest in something better.

Not having a go, being positive. He has something else he wants to put money into and get on to the next stage of his life.

quote for truth. People are always finding older content and purchasing.

Tours good be fixed up and some content dialed in. Still gold in them hills.

Stop posting common sense while people are deluding themselves. :1orglaugh

Internet growth is only of concern to us in places we can bill and will buy. Look at your stats to see the countries your income is coming from. The new users won't even start replacing the lost ones.

Looking at WHOIS I guess that's someone who has re-registered the domain, not Steve? Someone's gone fishing. :thumbsup

I just had a look at few random pics dated 2002 and 2003, they're 700px on the longest side.

Well for whatever it's worth I wish Steve the best. He was always great to his affiliates, he really spoiled them (me included at times, maybe too much). I hope he's doing well, I miss the days hanging with good ole Steve. :)

I agree. He could have sold it for a lot more money 'back then" but by holding on to it he's made that money and more.

I am honestly surprised he's selling. If I was him, I would buy a few sets here and there, add in a few new sets, and let it ride for the next decade.

Imortyl Pussycat 09-10-2012 10:03 AM

best of luck Steve, you brought a lot of fun and some great sites that made money to the industry for many years :thumbsup ignore the kids that weren't even there to see your contribution, some of them have no appreciation for what the pioneers of this industry did to pave their way.

He probably did the math, looked at members lost/gained per month, and said sell now for X or ride it out and make Y. He probably decided that losing some of the Y to get X now was better.

Plus you never know, he may want the money to start up another business venture and needs a bunch of capital.
