I am pretty sure his filings at least have been linked in Xbiz though I am too lazy to look. Besides that, I don't think anything else would publish until there was an actual decision but even that could be kept confidential.

Don't know either way on that point, but I do know from what he has said that his approach is not the way the RIAA went etc., and was more focused on theft than infringement, but he would have to give the details. That is just my take-a-way.

I bet what he sells for today and what he's made in the last 5 years is at least double or triple what the selling price would have been 5 years ago.

You missed the point.

By "too late" it mostly means he won't be able to sell, or sell for anything he deems worthy of selling. I'm one of those people that think it's going to be that way. Did he make more now then what he could have sold then? I dont know.

He did make a great brand, and an impact in industry, but he kind of went nuts in the end, not sure whats that about. Lightspeed dodgeball owned.

:)

so if he is selling would that mean he probably isn't making much money threating to sue people?

Thanks Steve and best of luck in your new endeavors.

maybe he will keep doing dodge ball just for old times sake? so what is steve doing now that he is selling his sites?

Strip Dodgeball is an eight-year long Phoenix Forum tradition that will live on with or without me, just like the late-night suite parties have. :2 cents:

To all my old friends, thanks for the kind words and the good times together. :thumbsup

As for me, I'm working on a new Broadway musical. :eyecrazy

As for DamianJ, he is still... a cunt :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I didn't take that as advice. I took it as an opinion of this situation, not what he would have done.

Once again, your rapier-like wit cuts me to the quick. You are the king of erudite and witty comebacks.

Yea i like how all these chumps jump in bidding 5 bucks, i bet his 11 year old pay sites makes more then all of you combined ;)

Mutt 09-11-2012 03:22 AM

His paysites definitely still make more than 99.99% than GFYers make.

I have one site similar to Steve's, two of his were much bigger than mine, then he has a whole bunch of smaller ones. My one site makes $3K a month just sitting there rotating content.

my guess would be $20-25K a month without any expenses other than hosting.

if my one site makes 3K a month what do u think Jordan Capri and Tawnee Stone do? There are big TGP's out there that keep rotating solo teen site galleries from years ago and they do make sales, some of them plenty. Then you have thousands of smaller tgp's and babe blogs with promo for LS sites on them. Plus there are rebills that keep on rebilling from years ago - I have an almost 9 year old NextDoorNikki rebill - i have no idea why the credit card hasn't expired at least once during that time.

At the very least it's 15K a month and i still think it's 20K

i am sorry, but i doubt also. i remember few months ago he still had top affiliates somewhere on lightspeedcash site, and it was like top 10 or top 100, and in one period all together made like 100usd, maybe less much less ... it is really not like people are buying old content again and again ... :2 cents:

if steve was making 1/2 million a year profit doing nothing I doubt he would be looking to sell. i post on gfy and so does steve so we both must be make a lot of money. my guess is 3 - 5 thousand a month and falling fast.

$15k-$20K a month in income is only 1000 members, maybe 1500 members when you consider processing and affiliate payouts. You really think ALL of his sites only have 1000 members? Seriously? In the day he would have hit 10,000's of members if not 100,000.... rebills last a long long long time.

Sly 09-11-2012 08:50 AM

You guys would be shocked how a member base can build up after many years of a site being online. It's actually pretty nutty.

10 rebills a day is ~$7,500 monthly.

rebills without updates? where? i see on his site winner of 2006 teen site awards, not updated since then? or is he doing daily updates? maybe i missed that fact, excuse me :2 cents:

thats because most people on gfy are not even in the industry or only make 10 sales a month

Rebills without updates, yes. I have seen stats admins from many "dead" programs and the remaining numbers are retarded. Add a content rotator, maybe a few feeds, you might extend the rebill ratio even more.

I have no idea what his members area is like and I obviously have no idea what his numbers are, but those of you that are discounting long-term rebill numbers are really talking about something you know nothing of.

Klen 09-11-2012 12:24 PM

Lol just got notification of sale on lscash, haven't seen sale there for ages.Did webmasters started to buy membership there?

JFK 09-11-2012 12:25 PM

one fitty ........Old School sites for sale

venus 09-11-2012 12:26 PM

intresting reading, interesting speculation....my question is where do you all actually get these numbers? You have no acess to his password file, no access to who ever processes his credit cards, your not his accountant. To have any kind of reasonabe guess, you would have to had access to either how much he made at one time or his password file to see how many members he had. So how do you guys come up with these numbers?

I recall reading an interview years ago where Steve mentioned something along the line of doing 5 mill in a good year. You do the math ;)

venus 09-11-2012 12:35 PM

its hearsay...no one knows anything unless you actually see it.
I am not going to do any math unless I know facts, if you all have learned one thing on GFY, it should be to never believe what you hear.

Over the last 15 years I have been running my site, I have seen ALOT of "successful" sites close up shop, others charged by the FTC and their accounts frozen, others take peoples money and run, not pay affiliates because they dont have the money...

Like I said earlier in this thread, it doesn't matter how much he did or is doing unless you are going to buy it. People like to throw numbers around, it's normal behavior. Some base it on their own numbers, lots just make things up on the fly :thumbsup

Radical Bucks 09-11-2012 12:40 PM

He should sell out to Manwin

venus 09-11-2012 01:00 PM

you don't need to update the content, anyone that joins anyone of these membership sites and doesn't cancel in the first 30 days simply forgot to cancel, guaranteed 100%. no one in the right mind would purposely pay $29.95 a month for some old content being re posted.

what does it matter what he did in 2005? that has no baring today. none of those people still be getting charged, no one would continue to pay on purpose and all of their credit cards would have expired by now.
