Won't say how much but monthly cost really came down with CDN. It's amazing what you can push with a couple of origin servers if your code is extremely optimized.

hineken 11-07-2012 10:11 PM

$107/year just paid

shake 11-07-2012 10:14 PM

I used to have full racks at Sagonet, Swiftco and iWeb, now everything is just running on a few VPS accounts at linode/amerinoc/iweb about $500 a month. I'd like to get that under $100 which I should be able to do.

Pretty safe to assume those paying $100+ per month are streaming or content producers. Affiliate related sites don't need that much server power uunless you are pushing big numbers.

i spoke to Nik from Crakmedia the first time in 2008 and i think he was mostly by himself at that time - look where he's now. As an affiliate.

Three servers, each with 100 mbps? That's pretty good.

I am right under $1000 a month for one.

I've consolidated a lot, dropped several windows servers that I no longer needed, and moved all my adult to one machine instead of six.

Emil 11-08-2012 01:08 PM

Maybe $10/month. I used to have 3 dedicated servers but now only use 3 shared hosts. =)

Denny 11-10-2012 06:36 AM
