1) Redtube is not United States based site or company. Therefore 2257 does not apply.

2) Any content producer that turns over a copy of the releases is essentially giving up ownership of the content.

3) Be careful when doing business with any entity that is not located within your legal jurisdiction. Trying to seek legal remedy against someone in another nation is a game reserved for the very rich.


It should not take you too much effort or money to have a lawyer create a new contract that points to the content producer as the holder of the releases and that they should be contacted directly if there is any problem. (In the mean time Redtube would disable their account until the situation is rectified)

This is basic business and basic contact law. So unless redtube has a good reason to need a copy of those releases. I would suspect that they are being opportunists. However I welcome a response to this issue I have raised.

The affiliate business model (and Im talking about 99% of average afifliates, not BIG COMPANIES and WHALES that are only a 1% of the biz) has been destroyed during the last years. And you know it very well.

This is wrong. They are affiliates. Affiliates can be big companies with employees. That simply makes them a "whale" affiliate.

Personally I do not like tube sites at all. But if they play ball and bring it together as a legitimate distribution and publicity source, then so be it.

As for the affiliates and whatever or whoever the other so called « middle men » are. There are still many pornographers that still subscribe to the old philosophy of ;

• If you are not responsible for the filming of the porn (camera man or money man)
• If you are not the one having sex in the porn (performers)
• If you are not directly involved in putting the porn in the punters hands (distrubtor, store owner, etc)

Then whoever you are is irrelevant and you should not be getting a paycheck from porn.

Oh and for your information. Many British pornographers setup shop in Holland in order to avoid the British Broadcast and Publication Review Boards.

Disagree... we love our affiliates and try to support them any way possible. We recognize that the minnow today may be the whale tomorrow.

The fact simply remains that programs must deal with the reality, that has always existed, that less than 10% of active affiliates typically generate over 90% of the affiliate income.

The programs that don't balance organic, paid, and affiliate traffic efforts are the ones that typically don't last long; oftentimes, for the reason that they devote over 90% of the marketing effort at affiliates that are mostly totally unproductive.

You don`t need the 2257 documents! You are not the owner and/or producer of the content! The only thing you have to do is make a statement on your site that you are not the primary producer/owner and therefore have no 2257 documents! You could direct authorities to where they can find the document: The adres of the producer!
So for what do you need those documents?

For the very little clips that I do put on line. I put a big scrolling watermark right in the middle of the video. Fuck them, if they want the video they can pay for it. I am not giving anything away for free.

Ps. 95% of my product is still sold the old fashion way and all though I have had better years, I have also had worse.

You must own the domain where you use the content within the terms, conditions and type of rights bought. If everybody just uses content everywhere, studios/producers can no longer check where it is used and eventually conflict with their own sales strategy, branding and distribution network.

We do have some packs from budget suppliers who would allow such a deal.
