RIP Archi :( He was great, playful fun loving dog. Had a bright future ahead of him. My heart goes out to the family.

When I lost Bobo last year after a hard struggle for his life, I found this song. It helped me a lot. Perhaps it is a sad song, but it would be good to cry a little and honor your dog.

To JohnnyClips; I find you a despicable person, not worthy to be here on this forum

Like everybody else here and I'm sure it's no different with those who know you personally I'm sick of your sad existence here masking your own failed life by obsessing on what's wrong with everybody and everything else.

OMG!! SO SORRY Captain Wolfy!!

Jman 11-29-2012 07:44 AM

Sorry for your loss, he was a beautiful setter and must of been a great companion.

pornguy 11-29-2012 08:31 AM

His stomach flipped. It happens a lot in larger dogs.

A vet we met in Mexico does a surgery to correct it and prevent it from happening by taking a muscle from the stomach wall and putting it around one of the ribs.

Sorry for your loss.

Choopa_Pardo 11-29-2012 08:32 AM

Sorry yo hear about your loss my friend. Watching a pet pass away is never easy.

PR_Glen 11-29-2012 08:32 AM

I'm really sorry to hear about your dog, mine are truly like family to me and it would be devastating for me to lose one of them.

We have larger dogs and we try to take some precautionary measures for these types of things. We stick to grain free dog foods (it doesn't expand as much) and serve them with water in the bowls, which helps them eat their food a bit slower. We try to be around them for the next half hour or so after they eat so we can see any issues, which can be tough for busy people I know. We have an older lab who is 11 now so we always need to keep a close eye on him. I am very sure you are doing a great job with yours already but figure I would share the steps we take anyway.

Sorry to hear that, I love my 2 dogs more than I love most humans.

Poor puppy! Losing an animal is incredibly hard. I'm sorry for your loss.

Now I'm going to go hug my cat.

Woke up this morning and one of my dogs was shaking and puking all over the place, i took him to the vet in my town and he said that he probably ate something and he gave him 4 injections. I took dog home and he was feeling better, stubborn as always my pride Irish Setter. Around 1 p.m. i had to take my dad to hospital in another town to get surgery, so i locked my dogs, gave a key to a friend and asked if he could check him till i get back. . Went to my dads place and drove him in another town. During whole day i was on the phone with a friend and he said that condition of my dog is getting worse and i have asked him to take him to the vets one more time. He did that and now another vet said and i quote: " I really don't know what's wrong with him, what did other vet earlier today said?" So he brought him home and stayed whole time with him. The surgery that my dad had finished at 7 p.m. i rushed home and i was home at 8p.m. the dog was shaking and was sick as hell, i called one more time vet if they could give me some advice or something, and than at 8p.m. he gave me phone number from vet that is in town where i took my father for operation. I called the guy and he said to me: "You can rush him here but he won't make it in time". The road to there was just terrible it's around 90km from my place, not far you would say but the road was terrible. I put him in the car and drove back , speeding like never before, and my friend just passed away before i have entered the city. I was there in 30mins or less.. Vet in other town told me that my dog had don't know exact word in English but his belly was twisted and it could easily be removed with simple operation if it's diagnosed on time. I have been breeding Irish Setters for quite some time now, and i must tell you that this is the first time i have seen something like this.
Anyways this one of his older pictures from earlier this year

He was a champ in 7th fci group and he was in his prime. 09.09.2012-28.11.2012

all the best

I am so sorry to hear this. I recently lost a pet, and it's not an easy thing to deal with. I found a really great site call rainbowbridge.com where you can post a memorial page for your pet. Here's mine http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/...2/Resident.htm.

If there is anything I can do to help with your loss, please let me know. I understand how much pain this creates, but it will pass. Just remember that your pet is waiting for you on the Rainbow Bridge.

hostcentrex 12-02-2012 08:53 AM

By the way, the term is Colic. It can happen to any animal. We just had it happen to one of our horses. Thank god we got to it in time, but don't beat yourself up about it. it's extremely hard to find in dogs. It was not your fault believe me!

My condolences. I know how it feels.
