Here's mine, a blue Audi 80, cost me £400 & nearly £800 insurance. I bought & paid for it out of my own money at the age of 17, just a month after my birthday.

I past my test within 2 weeks of my birthday after taking lots of lessons. I passed first time with the chief instructor of Bedfordshire as my examiner :helpme

Not mine but very close. 1960 VW I bought for $200 from an old German Tool Maker that was a friend of the family. It was powder blue... I worked for a summer to make some extra cash to get it painted a metalflake green and put on the cragar mags.

Motor was stock...72mph top speed with a tailwind.

100 old cars

My first ride was a '74 Super Beetle. From the day I bought it, it smelled like gasoline and exhaust whenever I would open up the heater vents. Just figured that's how they were. A few months after owning the car, on my way to school... I saw smoke trailing behind me in the rear view mirror. Figured, huh... odd. A few seconds later, I lose all power. So I pull over, and when I look back again I see flames filling my whole rear view. LOL

Anyway, I was right across the street from a State Farm office... and one of the agents came out and extinguished my fire. The damage cost about $1000. The car cost $1000. One of my first lessons in the costs of car ownership. :)
