I understand that. What I fail to understand is the inability by the powers that be to recognize that GFY is losing business discussion marketshare to other sites. I believe it is likely due to this site being less focused on business, and more focused on drama and immature nonsense -- largely by those I bet likely not even IN the industry, or hobbyists at best, looking for weekend beer money. Meanwhile smaller boards have really taken a chunk of business market share where GFY would otherwise own that. There is no dedicated business section here (except for mainstream). Thus, any real business discussions usually get buried into the endless amounts of drama and bullshit that have nothing to do with business, or even the industry.
It's just an interesting scenario to me that I enjoy such a ridiculously lopsided business stream on other boards and business focused communities compared to what GFY seems to generate for me these days. The last two years in particular has really been noticeable. Just a personal observation is all. It makes no difference to me as I still do a lot of business, just that most of it happens elsewhere these days. |
