Inglorius Basterds was absolute crap. I haven't seen Django yet, but everything I'm reading indicates that I won't like it.

You out of your mind amigo, Inglorious was brilliant in my Books. Did you try it with subtitles? :winkwink:
Christopher Waltz is awesome in both movies :2 cents: Oscar Best Supporting Actor for his role in Inglorious Bastards btw...

Been following Tarantino since the beginning.
Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill are some of my fav of all time.

bronco67 01-14-2013 07:32 AM

Why do I get the feeling that most people here, when they say "watched it" mean they just watched it on their computer? Does anyone go to the theater anymore?

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 01-14-2013 07:58 AM

Propaganda pirates your mind. 1:1

ContentPimp 01-14-2013 08:09 AM

Matyko 02-07-2013 08:47 AM

This Movie Is Fucking Awesome, I haven't seen such a good one in years :pimp
I love Tarantino, I grew up on Pulp Fiction and this is almost as good as PF imo.. Diffferent style, but excellent acting and super awesome overall feeling.

you do know that Italy and the Third Reich were allies? killing your own people was par for the course with Hitler, Mussollini, and Stalin so why would you doubt that ltalians loyal to Mussollini would collaborate with the Nazis at this massacre at Sant'Anna?

Mutt 02-07-2013 09:17 AM

ok i read more about the Sant'Anna massacre - a novel Lee based the movie on had a traitor in the Italian resistance collaborating with the Nazis in the massacre. Whether that is true or not doesn't seem to be known but it sure is entirely possible.

I don't know why an Italian American would be insulted by that considering Italy was at war with us. Of course Italian Americans/Brits/Canadians fought bravely for the Allies.

CCdoug 02-07-2013 09:26 AM

Fantastic movie to watch! I've already seen it twice in theater and will purchase the DVD when it becomes available.

The original Django from the 1960s? Hard to comment on without spoiling it.

No, I don't believe that at all.

I think Spike Lee believes what he says - that he's genuinely upset over what he feels is irreverent treatment of a brutal period in African-American history. I think he feels like a Jew would if somebody made a slapstick comedy set in Auschwitz, with starving, emaciated Jews slipping on banana peels and falling into gas chambers. This is Spike Lee we're talking about here. This is the guy who directed "Malcolm X" and "Bamboozled"(a movie about black stereotypes in Hollywood), and has a production company called "40 acres and a mule." You really think he's that shamelessly fucking phoney that he'd stoop to playing media charades for bigger box office numbers? I know the guy's full of shit, but come on. Nah. Besides, I've never heard Tarantino bash "Red Hook Summer", or whatever other box office flop Lee's put out over the last decade. He hasn't made a good movie since "25th Hour."

Or maybe I?m wrong. Or maybe it?s some hybrid where Spike kind of gives a shit, but knows Denzel *really* gives a shit back from his beef with Tarantino on "Crimson Tide", and Spike needs to preserve that relationship so that he can keep the possibility of "Inside Man 2" alive... who knows. Maybe Spike?s the guy who convinced Michael Jordan to grow a Hitler stache. If so, he?s brilliant.

You don't think "Inside Job" was worthy of mention?

CaptainHowdy 02-07-2013 05:18 PM

Great adventure movie, just that ...

Tjeezers 02-07-2013 06:11 PM

Amazing good movie and great acting. Christoph Waltz is one of my favorites

PromoterX 02-07-2013 08:58 PM

True to Tarantino... lots of blood/gore and excessive use of the word N****R.

Done only in the way he can do it.

HUH????

FUCKING BRILLIANT MOVIE

Only Tarantino would have the BALLS to make that movie

There is no one MORE relevant.

Kolargol 02-08-2013 01:59 AM

As a kid I saw the old Django film many times and I loved it then :)

Tarantino's film was not as good as Inglorious Bastards but still amazing.

Katie-LifeSelector 02-08-2013 02:16 AM

I have, & I loved it, very Tarantino like. :thumbsup

After Inglorious Bastards this is my favorite.

Oh, and absolutely hooked on the soundtrack :

DamianJ 02-08-2013 03:22 AM

It was alright, but someone REALLY should have told him that he can't do an Aussie accent for toffee. It was almost as bad as Dick Van Dyke's british accent in Mary Poppins!

That's the method of the globalists to create social dysfunction.

It's a great movie but if you look at it perspective of the motive of our owners, it's propaganda.

I'll just sit here and wait to see what you say when the next Holocaust movie comes out.

Entirely possible? The novel is a work of fiction that Spike Lee chose to portray as historical fact. I guess it's also entirely possible that Hitler visited Auschwitz and personally handed out double-dip ice cream cones and Payday bars to all the Jews before they got their Zyklone B delousing showers, I mean, Hitler WAS known to have a sweet tooth. It's entirely possible. But if I put that scene in a movie and blasted "BASED ON A TRUE STORY" across the screen before it began, you would rightfully call me out on it. The survivors of that massacre DID call him out on it, and he still refused to acknowledge that he took some creative license with the story, saying: "there's a lot about your[Italians] history you have yet to come to grips with." adding insult to injury. The guy's a jitbag.

At the time that happened, Italy had already surrendered and switched sides.

I'm not personally insulted. None of that shit bothers me; it’s the hypocrisy, the self-righteous indignation, that bothers me. I could give a fuck if Spike Lee casts a thousand gold cornicello and Fila velour tracksuit wearing, cement laying, greaseball caricatures in his movies; plenty of them exist in real life, some of them are my friends and relatives. And I doubt it would bother any them or any other Italian-Americans because we haven’t made a cultural tradition out of fucking complaining about everything. That's my own personal tradition, complaining about everything.

Anyway, Spike Lee:

"Inside Job" or "Inside Man"? "Inside Job" was about the financial collapse, Spike Lee didn't direct that. "Inside Man" is some detective movie with Denzel Washington he directed.

Ahh, right, my bad, probably because I keep seeing "Inside Job" on the Netflix menu of recommended titles.

"Inside Man" is a good movie though and not typical of Spike Lee's usual editing/visual style, except for maybe one of those moving background dolly shots or two.

Far-L 02-08-2013 06:20 PM

How can anyone go to something expecting to dislike it and find anything else but dissatisfaction?

I don't get that... :upsidedow

I liked it a lot - always bee. A Tarantino fan.
