My kids send thank you notes for whatever it is they receive for Christmas, Birthdays, etc. My wife and I have taught them and now that they are older, expect it.

It's called instilling decency and good values within your kids, hoping that they carry the tradition on with their own offspring. It's common decency when somebody gives you something to say THANK YOU.

I tend to agree, but a thank you isn't too much to ask.

That said, if these are "ghetto kids" they probably haven't had anyone show them the right way to live. We aren't fucking born with good manners. We had to learn. I know plenty of kids from nice, suburban households that are rude and entitled, too. Cut these kids some slack, and maybe find a way to let them know it's important to show appreciation. Just sayin.

I was raised to send thank you notes as it's the polite thing to do.
