While that is technically molestation, I think most of us are referring to when adults molest very young children. You can't tell me a 6 year old enjoys getting sodomized.

Those kids also often get groomed until a type of Stockholm Syndrome sets in, so they have a false set of beliefs of what they want and need. It's exploitation of the mind in order to get what you want. One could go to certain parts of the world where you could offer someone 1,000USD to chop off one of their fingers, and they would do it and thank you for the opportunity. Is that okay or morally acceptable? Of course not. Just because the 'victim' doesn't always know they are being victimised, does it make it less wrong?

A really interesting article that poses a dilemma for modern Western society. We have become custom to creating paths of acceptance for things which as a result of our genetic makeup. Which is the right thing to do because in most cases we have become a more educated society and understand that differences in skin color, gender and most sexuality has no major impact on who an individual person is beyond that trait. Somebody being gay or straight (both genetic traits) doesn't really impact anybody but that individual.

Pedophila on the other hand by its very nature suggests a potential victim to us. So, what do we do with our instinct to find a path of acceptance for something we know can not be accepted? Many of us fight saying that any 'natural' state is wrong because we know that as soon as that is uttered what has taken place in this thread happens. Comparisons between pedophila and homosexuality are made by those who can't see that actually it makes a stronger case of putting hetero and homosexuality more closely together as naturally occurring and usually victimless sexualities.

As to how it may have been passed genetically, remember that the age of females placed into marriage used to be much younger. The child brides of the past had men attracted enough to them to produce families.

I want to point out one false assumption that many seem to be making (perhaps its more comforting).

If you accept "born this way" as an explanation, and then say "well they don't control themselves... that makes them different from we/us/me" one is making a pretty big logical error.

The rest of us have way more outlets to fulfill our BIOLOGICAL IMPERATIVES than these guys do. Or at least, to get close enough to fulfill those biological needs.

Saying that they should just control themselves is stupid. I mean, of course they should, but the underlying assumption is an unspoken "just like I do in other areas because I dont XYZ".

The thing is, nobody here who is anything resembling normal knows what its like to fight a biological imperative.

What if there was no porn and having sex with women was illegal and monstrous, and there was literally no legal channel to fulfill this need? Adjust appropriately for homosexual persons. What would be the end result? In a lifetime would it be excuseable to convince yourself that 20 year old hottie wanted it and convince her too and slip once?

I'm not saying it can't be done or its an excuse to do horrible things to other people, but what I am saying is dismissing it as a simple failure of willpower is fucking stupid.

That's not to say that there can't be successful strategies of course. But to suggest its only a moral failing is pretty naive.

The real problem with our society is we think we're human and on top of the world, when we're actually just fucking meat with a little self control grafted on top that thinks its in charge. And we're actively fighting improvement by how we limit evolution.

Kill them, lock them up because they are different, accept right now there isn't really another better solution that protects everyone else, do whatever you want, but at least realize what we're dealing with.
