    Server Moves and SE rankings

Has anyone ever seen a decrease or increase in their SE rankings after moving hosts?

There can definitely be changes; some can be good (like if moving from a shared IP at some cut-rate host to a dedicated IP elsewhere). There can also be a drop in rankings, especially if you change the design or something that might make G think there is a new owner at the same time.

I've switched dedicated servers a few times. Once I switched twice within a week. I didn't change the site or whois, or even the nameservers, but I did change the IP the site was hosted on. I've never seen a change either negative or positive.

I've noticed a positive effect when moving to less crowded hosting. Nothing huge, but Google had an easier time indexing the site I guess. The results were instantaneous on the charts provided.
